Can Frank Zane's physique be achieved naturally?

A Frank Zane-like physique is definitely achievable with the supps and knowledge available in this day and age. He was around about 200lb ripped... there's lots of guys out there that are natural with that type of physique. Genetics would definitely help too!! I'm about 202lb but about 18 - 20% bf and I consider myself to have average genetics..

Id say so, maybe not exactly like him but a zane-esque physique is attainable naturally, not everybody could do it but its possible

Although I said yes, this particular pic of Zane (Arguably the biggest/fullest in a pic that I've seen) I'd say this would be difficult and just your average Joe with just a 'will to succeed' would not really be able to achieve this.

The typical Zane I think of - like that in 90%+ of his pics and vids - I'd say is attainable (albeit - 100% dedication needed w/ good genetics)

You sure? Maybe for some showings, but typically, I was always under the impression he was just under 200lb (Like 198 or something)

From a Flex interview about his life: height - 175 cm
1980- 94.5 kg at 8 weeks out, has an acccident, hurts his urethra - loses 8 kg in hospital
1982 - too heavy at 92.5 kg, so this must have been his heaviest on stage

arm - 48.5cm
chest - 132 cm
quads - 66 cm
calves - 46 cm
waist - 71 cm

On topic: no, you can't as a nattie achieve his body

Zane competed around 185. I think he was closer to 190 at the 1979 Olympia. He was in good shape and hoping to come in at his biggest around 200 at the 1980 Olympia but an accident a few weeks before that show didn't allow it. He came in ripped again but more around 185 again.

Anyone who thinks his physique can be achieved without drugs hasn't been training very long. His degree of definition, hardness and muscularity are not possible by using only today's supplements and nutrition. He wasn't the biggest competitor by any means, but even his size cannot be obtained through hard training and diet.

Supplements, nutrition, and training have come a long ways in 30 years, but not that far.

Comparing a body weight of 200 at 18-20 percent body fat does no mean you would be 185 on stage and shredded like Zane. You'd be more like 135-140 to be as rippped as Zane and considerably smaller.

Yes, according to wiki and bb.com, these are Zane's official stats during his prime.

to those of you that say it cant be achieved naturally, then im assuming these guys arent really natural like they claim? Look at the whole list they get bigger as u scroll down but theyr pretty close to his size especially ulyssus..

48.5 cm = 19.1 in
71 cm = 28 in

Anyway, from the vid more like a 30 inch waist and 16 inch arms. Strong inflated stats.

Actually it's 19" arms and 28" waist.

or has been training a long time and knows what the body is capable of, zane's physique is totally obtainable naturally, is a mirror image of it possible? no because you dont have the same genetics there are natural guys who are bigger and just as hard as zane on stage

no i will not name names or pics because it will just turn in to the he is / isnt natty debate look around you'll find them

im not trying to degrade franks physique or his accomplishments but it is possible, we can save the whole genetics hard work diet lecture because it goes without saying but yes it is possible, not for all, and not for most, but it is possible

...well, the thing is that even if it can be achieved naturally, it is exceedingly difficult for someone with, say, a job that takes up a very large amount of their time, or a family, etc. etc. So for the vast majority of people, it's not realistic, because in order to achieve it they would have to sacrifice too much...

i think its not possible and many so called "naturals" are juicing and cheating tests and taking prohormones and what not...
