From there ******** ( below ), it looks like they are busy with a move, but I agree company reps should be able to answer a email no matter how big or small the order is.
Did you know: Since 2007 Legend Fitness has more than doubled in size! 2011 was another record year for the company. 2012 is already off to a record start and forecasts project more than a 30% growth trajectory for the company this year alone. Oh, and did we mention that we will be moving into our new 105,000 sqf manufacturing facility in March 2012? Bottom line - Legend is the fastest growing Commercial Strength Equipment manufacturing company in the USA. Period.

I just spoke with andrew hall last night and he said that they were extremely busy. He took the order for my legend rack last night and he said it would take all of 11 weeks for it to come in. He said that the holidays brought in a lot of orders and they were already too busy to begin with.

yeah- I figured as much. I did read about their upcoming move to a larger facility- so it all makes sense. I just e-mailed him monday again - I want to order a pair of J-hooks. We'll see how long this takes- my squat stool is coming in tomorrow (ordered in october). I guess you have better luck when calling then? Hopefully when they move- they will hire more help and will be able to cut down on the delivery time for orders.

So I did my research for a bit and ended up getting the Powerline rack from Amazon for $298. It shipped today and now I see that Dick's has their Proviction rack on sale for $300 (I can probably find a coupon as well). I am wondering if it is worth returning the Powerline rack. I know they are both on the low end so I wonder if one would be that much better than the other. I like that the Powerline has a number of good reviews. Not as much to go on with the Proviction, but people here seemed to like it (when it was Protocol).

You're right they are both on the low end of power rack quality but I would guess either will do just fine for the average home user. Powerline has been around for alot longer so that's the obvious reason for it having more reviews, if you like the design of the protocol rack better maybe you could ask (pm) the couple guys around here who bought one and make sure they still like it or at least that they haven't had any major issues with it since owning it. In the end I suspect it's just gonna be design preference on which of the 2 racks will be better for you.
I know there was at least 1 review thread on the protocol rack, if you do a search I'm sure you can find it to talk to the owner. I don't have any experience with either rack so this is the best advice I can give you for now.[]---[] Equipment Crew #30 []---[]

That thing is cool! I like the adjustable height pull-up / dip bars.
Have you tried using the Isotonic-Isometric approach as described by Bill Starr in these articles?

Yes, it is. Full size plates are 17-18" in diameter. It is a cheap cage. That's why I ordered one a week ago. I used it for the first time last night. Squat 325x5x5. It worked just fine.
The plate holders are more for weighing the thing down or giving you a place to stack extra weights than they are for convenient plate storage, though.
Here it is in my garage.
And here is a crappy video of me busting my ass on the last set. (shouldn't have been hard, I took too much time off over the holidays)

hey ffrink...I've actually got one of those. i picked it up for $100 bucks and use it as a separate 'bench' rack now. I wish mine had come with the dip bars, though...those were missing...as well as spotter pins for the thinner holes.
it's definitely a cool rack, though. Do you know what this rack was officially 'named'? I'm curious if any of the original attachments are out there for sale somewhere, but obviously the search would go better knowing what this rack is actually named.

I have not done the Bill Starr isometrics workouts. Barely have time to do any workouts, let alone adding to them. I have read that they were not that effective without the little blue pill, but more just a marketing ploy by Hoffman camp to sell the little racks and another type of training system.
I also read on other forums that the dip bars for this rack are rare.
Did yours include the platform too?
Here is a page from the York catalog with the rack.Last edited by ffrink; 01-16-2012 at 10:25 AM.

Thanks! That's definitely it. If your curious about the isometric stuff:
http://www.sandowplus.co.uk/Competit.../ics/ics01.htm
I've read the same as you about it's effectiveness as an overall strategy. Mine did come with a platform, but it was not from york...something somebody constructed themselves. Mine also does not have a pull-up bar in the middle. Somebody had fashioned a pulley system and bolted on crossmembers at the front and back and suspended the pulleys from that.
you've probably read this one:
http://startingstrength.com/articles...cise_starr.pdf
..kind of interesting, saying the 'super power rack' was originally $100!

This is odd....don't they just cut you a check for the amount you lost after they've verified or are at least happy with your account of what you had? I've only had one claim in my life and after I got the check I could've spent it all on bourbon & hookers if I'd wanted to. I decided to pass on the bourbon.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪
