I got this in an email from a hunter buddy of mine. A guy was hunting caribou in Alaska and a polar bear jumped on him while he was sleeping. The guy was mauled pretty bad (see pics) but managed to kill the bear (so the story goes). I don't know if he actually killed it or if someone else did. I like to think he did and is the most alpha man alive.

OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!"Modern man is conditioned to expect instant gratification but any success or triumph realized quickly, with only marginal effort is necessarily shallow. Meaningful achievement takes time, hard work, persistence, patience, proper intent and constant self-awareness. The path to such success is punctuated by failure, consolidation and renewed effort. i heard that Les Stroud just so happened to be making a tree bark and bear claw stew (which he sustains himself with because hes alpha) in that area heard the screams ran to see what was happening (because he can see in the dark) and once upon the scene dove into the bears rectum all the way to the heart, ate the bears heart and then flew (yea he can fly) the injured hunter to a hospital

awesome pictures
there's no way the hunter killed that bear with the kind of dmg the bear inflicted in the place. Most likely, his fellow hunters heard the screams and went to his aid, shooting the bear to death.Mountain Man #99 - killing bears and eating whole eggs
