I want to cut out whey protein shakes and I wanted to know what kind of foods can I eat that are fast absorbing for post work out

Majority of foods are semi fast absorbing. Remember whey is already broken down once it enters the body, chicken breast in such are broken down with digestion.
My thing would be have like 24 G Peanut butter sandwhich on Ezekiel bread followed by like 1 glass 2% milk. Worked for me when I ran out of protein. I would go home and then eat chicken or steak. The easiest meat for your body to break down is gonna be Tuna.
Vegetables are easy to break down but for the most part you will find more carbs with less protein, although good carbs.Attain the unattainable, never satisfied. Unleash the beast within. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to be able to lift everyday. Eye for an Eye, Tooth for Tooth thats my response to reps.

PROTEIN TIMING CHART
Whey: 30 min to 1 hour
Eggs: 2-3 Hours
Meat: 3-4 Hours
Casein: 7+ Hours

Not that an hour or two will matter all that much in the grand scheme of things...but the more fat in the meal, the slower the overall digestion will be of anything you're eating. Unless it's whey, plain egg whites would probably result in the most rapid absorption of the amino acids into the blood.
