Muscle Gaining/Toning Routine?

There is no way to tone your muscle through weight training, tone or definition is the product of low body fat combined with muscle development, I know this because my muscle definition is exceptional but I almost always train in a 6-12 range for size, the definition just comes with having very little body fat.
Ray Allen is Boss btw....

Two things wrong here...
1. Im ripped and you dont even have a pic, yet youre still talking ****.
2. Ive gained 35lbs, 30lbs of it being lean muscle mass so I know what Im talking about, youre just a jealous little bitch, and now Ive put you in your place.
My name's Sinbad, this is my head shot, I'll autograph that for you later...and YOURE MY BITCH! (I love this quote and it works great right here)Last edited by henmaniac87; 08-04-2010 at 11:27 AM.

haha well you're proving my point quite well. I'll make a list of things I have to say to keep it more organized.
1. Skinny doesn't count as ripped.
2. If you've gained 35lbs, then before you must have been hospitalized for being so grossly underweight.
3. You might be lucky to deadlift half of what I powerclean.
4. Put in my place? I'm hard pressed to believe that people would take your advice over mine just by looking at your pic. ANYTHING is better than what your pic shows.
5. If I weighed 145lbs and had your level of bf (I am also 6' btw) I would have to lose 15-20lbs of muscle.
6. Negged? Wow great of my 20k points a whopping 4 is going to reeeeeeally damage my rep. I'm surprised you even made it up to 4. That won't last.
Go do some more concentration curls in front of the mirror with the 15lb DBs so all the girls can be so impressed with your 12 inch cannons and insanely developed bicept p33k.

Everything you just said just admits that you have no comeback to what I said. Resorting to insults is how someone who is out of valid points (which really you never had to begin with) argues.
Ripped implies you have muscle to begin with. When you can bench 250, squat 400, and deadlift 450 you will have accumulated enough mass to be considered "ripped" in small circles if your bf is low enough.
Everything I just typed is true and that's why you resorted to calling it bull**** rather than arguing against it.
STFU? Are you 12? Who the hell uses this terminology outside of WOW?
I'm done. You really can't argue with an idiot. Go ahead, post another name calling, ignorant and immature post. Seems like every post you make is something of the like.

--The proper plural form of the Latin adjective biceps is bicipites, a form not in general English use. Instead, biceps is used in both singular and plural (i.e., when referring to both arms). The form bicep [sic], although common even in professional contexts, is considered incorrect. (from Wikipedia)

so...back on topic
Rayallen - I think you're focusing too much on isolation excercises and not enough on compound excercises. You need to work multiple muscles at once, not just individual excercises. Do things like squats, deadlights, bench press, shoulder press, cleans, pullups. Start light to get the correct form down and then continually increase weights.
You won't get bulky without eating a ton. In fact, I would still eat a lot and work my way up to heavy weights if I were you. Its not like overnight you go from athletic with low body fat to massively bulky. Its a long process. If you fell you're getting too big and bulky, cut your food intake.
