I appreciate him very much for that. He's the one guy that has literally turned nothing into something. That's a very rare feat in this sport.

ask any pro bodybuilder and they will tell you that there is a place for "quarter" or "half" reps. not every lift has to be complety locked out, maybe if this were powerlifting but its not. if "half" reps put more stress on the intended target and thus overload his muscles so be it. when u look half as good as Branch with ur "superior" genetics, then and only then will i listen to u

Everybody in the top 10 at the olympia has elite genetics.
Hell anybody to even qualify for the olympia has to have elite genetics.

his general lack of a pleasing structure, which is largely genetic. He's made the best of what little bit he has.

nothing like confusing intensity and work ethic...just because you scream and grunt doesnt mean you are training harder than someone who is silent

genetics is a gift, work ethic is a trait that can be improved and mastered by anybody (and Branch has done a great job...but if you want gifts, go for those that you can`t change yourself)

anybody who is anywhere close to getting their pro card does
nearly all the guys in the magazines do too (fitness magazines included)

This.
Clearly Branch puts all that he has into bodybuilding and he has made great accomplishments, but I doubt even he himself would claim that he has a work ethic far beyond many other competitors.

The Arnold and the Mr. O are 2 different shows. The two shows have a history of placing guys in different places. The old still kinda holds true: O is mass, Arnold is aesthetics

Can anybody post some pre-BBing pics or amateurs of Branch?

Branch wasnt in top form at the Arnold he was slightly better at the Olympia even he said so and to top that off he scored a 13 in the finals at the Arnold. Same as Phil.

Which was made possible thanks to the absolutely remarkable genetics he has for size...
Brb having the most gifted lower body in bodybuilding, as well as remarkably unusual conditioning potential. Sure, he has major genetic flaws, but to suggest he made something out of nothing (re: his genetics) is slight exaggeration... He couldn't be where he is with inferior genetics.
He doesn't have the best genetics for shape, sure, but he still has some of the best genetic attributes, which is the only way it is possible to become one of the best bodybuilders.

At the elite level, minuscule differences are sometimes the factor that decides who wins and loses. Branch's physique, while developed as it is, just isn't a Mr. O winning physique. That's all that's being said, and I certainly agree.
Welcome to thunder dome, bitch.

Jay Cutler sustains an injury last year and it is an olympia winning physique.Anybody capable of making top2 or 3 has to be considered as a legitimate threat.

he 'literally' turned nothing in to something did he? what a dumb comment, as has been mentioned in order to get to top 10 at the olympia you have to have ELITE genetics. he hasn't turned 'nothing' into something. he has capitalised on his ridiculos ability to build muscle, which is the baseline of evern getting into the IFBB.

another dumb comment. hmm let's see, you'd prefer to have a 'work ethic' that seems to me to comprise mainly of being a retard in the weights room, throwing benches around and acting 'hardcore', instead of having the top .005% muscle building genetics in the world (which the top BBers would have). if you had their genetics you would barely have to work out and probably get up to 220 ripped but no, you'd prefer to have the ethic of throwing stuff around. even if he does have some sort of inhuman ability to train 'better' then anyone else (which i find highly dubious), fact is without the genetics to build muscle quickly training like him will do nothing for you. you'll probably never see a lb over (a ripped) 220-230 no matter hwo hard you train or how much drugs you take

why do people always say branch got ****ty genetics..
i think hes amazing but nowhere near bad genetics
he wouldnt be an ifbb pro with ****ty genetics.
he just has so many ****ing injuries it ruins his physique

He wasn't in top form at the Arnold retard.
Spike92 is 15.
^ place this in your sig to remind the world that Spike92 is indeed 15 and will never be anything other than 15.
When im not hungry I eat. When Im tired I train. When I feel like giving up I push harder.

Team anatomy studying :(
he's already one of the world's best if he's at the o and came second last year.
i don't see what your problem is tbh.

umm i think ur reading way tooooo much into my comment..... i was basically saying i'd rather work hard for my results rather than have them handed to me

I've been stupid enough in the past to think the guy is any more of a hardworker than some just because he screams and does half reps with 405 on the incline. We've all seen the volume of his workouts, and they're not that different from many other pros.
Where people get this "work ethic" thing about branch, I will not know. Why, because he trains at metroflex and shouts "yeah motherfuker"? Get real.
