    Started this program after I was done with SS. Still making progress after 5 months on the program even though ive been cutting the last month. Bill Starr def knows how to make a solid program. You think I should check out Madcows when im done with big 3 Farley?

    Before- After
    Squat: 265- 285 x5
    Bench: 190- 205 x5
    Power Clean: 165- 190 x5
    Press: 140- 155 x5

    Have you read through the thread/links on ways to advance/progress on the Big 3?

    You are still making progress, while cutting, and aren't moving very heavy weight yet. Just keep going and don't worry about later just yet.

    starting weights

    Does Starr give recommendations for starting weights on this?

    I topped out on SSLP at working sets of 365# squats and DLs, 250# BPs, and 165# presses.

    Planning on doing this one with presses instead of BPs.

    What is SSLP?

    I could guess but that's not an acronym I know of people using.

    Off the top of my head I don't know of a specific prescription for starting weights. But then as an intermediate you should have a little bit of experience to draw from when picking your weights. As always, when in doubt, start lighter and add more slowly

    SSLP = Starting Strength (Linear Progression)

    Yeah, I started the Starr program today. I may have started too heavy, but then again I won't go up in weight until next week. Now I just gotta remember to EAT and SLEEP!
