I have found More and more bodybuilding supplements to have Aspartame in them, then not ?. Most people know its bad for us to use so why do we still use it. and with over 92 different health symptoms associated with aspartame its not all in my head, And So do the company's who put it in our drinks or in our protein bars. I found a protein drink which taste lovely and is Aspartame Free from (Gaspari Nutrition Myofusion)
I have set this up today as i feed up with lots of the company's selling bodybuilding supplements to us all knowing how bad Aspartame is for our bodies
I Don't know about you all but i like to put good things into my body from my supplements.
I think its time for our bodybuilding supplements to be made Aspartame FREE.
Plus I think its time for people to stand up and be counted not only Because they make good money out of us all.
But its all about us looking better in the Gym World too
We all train hard and want the best from our bodies so why settle for second best when it comes to our supplements...

Over 92 health symptoms? How many over? If were talking 3 or 4 more than 92 then no biggie, but if its 5 or 6 then HELL YES we need to remove it from every supp.

Pretty sure any study that has shown any side effects has been at doses that are astronomical.
"THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE GREATEST STRENGTH GAINS OVER TIME WILL MAKE THE GREATEST SIZE GAINS OVER TIME ACCORDING TO THEIR GENETIC POTENTIAL. If you're reading this and never get anywhere close to your ultimate strength levels (AT WHATEVER REP RANGE) you will never get to your utmost level of potential size." Dante Trudel

Rats/mice in the lab are very simple animals and thus sometimes extreme doses (which often in and of themselves induce death in the animal subjects) are needed to elicit a quick and overt result.
Subtle changes and ones that take place over many years/decades can't be studied in rats very well.
And we make alot of generalizations to rationalize ingredients with questionable safety... indeed some things may be bad only in high doses, but some things are not good in any dose, especially with chronic exposure over time.Disclaimer: The above statments represent my own opinion. Holy crap people, pretty soon we will all have to stop using supplements. I guess we should all grow our own food in the back yard and have chicken barn in the back. That way everything we eat will zero artificial anything in it.
If you listen to all these jackasses about what's good and bad for you, you will have a list of about 10 things you can eat and they all of course have to be organic.
The effing sky isn't falling. If these things were half as bad for us as people say we'd be in a world of poop right now.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers

This is a tough one. Should I listen to Dr. Barry Sears, or actual research?

Functional magnetic resonance imaging of human hypothalamic responses to sweet taste and calories.

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Evidence exists that beverages do not trigger appropriate anticipatory physiologic responses, such as cephalic phase insulin release. Therefore, it is of interest to elucidate the food properties necessary for triggering adaptive responses. Previously, we found a prolonged dose-dependent decrease in the hypothalamic functional magnetic resonance imaging signal after ingestion of a glucose solution. OBJECTIVES: The aims of the present study were to measure the effects of sweet taste and energy content on the hypothalamic response to glucose ingestion and to measure the concomitant changes in blood glucose and insulin concentrations. DESIGN: Five healthy, normal-weight men participated in a randomized crossover design trial. The subjects were scanned 4 times for 37 min on separate days with functional magnetic resonance imaging. After 7 min, they ingested 1 of the following 4 stimuli (300 mL of each): water (control), a glucose solution, an aspartame (sweet taste) solution, or a maltodextrin (nonsweet carbohydrate) solution. RESULTS: Glucose ingestion resulted in a prolonged and significant signal decrease in the upper hypothalamus (P < 0.05). Water, aspartame, and maltodextrin had no such effect. Glucose and maltodextrin ingestions resulted in similar increases in blood glucose and insulin concentrations. However, only glucose triggered an early rise in insulin concentrations. Aspartame did not trigger any insulin response. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that both sweet taste and energy content are required for a hypothalamic response. The combination of sweet taste and energy content could be crucial in triggering adaptive responses to sweetened beverages.Speller Extraordinaire. Don't believe the lies.

read it. Studies have been done giving 34mg of Aspartame/kg of body weight to several patients and phenalinanine levels barely spiked. 200 mg of aspartame/kg of bodyweight is only one seventh of the amount to cause brain damage in infant mice. Aspartame does convert into formate which can cause blindness, but the danger level amounts to roughly 600 12oz cans of diet soda per day.

An actual study has come out. Read in my stores pharmaceutical magazine.
A decade long study was done on artificial sweeteners.
They found they caused no known health problems. And that they may actually help lower blood sugar in obese people.
All that info is doctor's giving their opinion over a subject that until recently had ZERO research backing.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

Aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious including seizures and death.(1) A few of the 90 different documented symptoms listed in the report as being caused by aspartame include: Headaches/migraines, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain.

Mercola is the king of quacks. He writes provocative pieces to gain avid followers who buy hundreds of dollars worth of stuff from his online store per month.
Go ahead and buy a few tubs of Mercola Premium Select Active Açaí bud.
No wait, did you seriously just cite MERCOLA? lol.
Aspartame is the most researched artificial sweetener around. Overall, it has a very clean safety record.Last edited by smt1; 07-31-2010 at 09:48 PM.
