Bent over row vs. T-bar Row

Which is better? I have been using T-bar row with a barbell and V-handle for a couple months but am thinking about switching to Barbell bent over row. What is the difference between them? is there any point in doing both?

    Thanks.

I hate them both. I prefer

seated high row - upper back thickness
2 arm db row - midle back thickness
seated low row - lower back thickness

there isn't much different between them, still works the same muscles. they just have a different "feel" to it. dont bother doing both exercises IMO, just choose one

I do both, I believe they each have their own place in adding mass to the back.

I love t-bar rows because it helps adding tickness in your middle back.

Difference between the two: When I do bent over rows I don't feel my lower back as much as when I do t-bar rows. Bent over rows are a good exercise for the upper back while t-bar row builds your entire back.

Personally, I do both. In general, both excercises work the same muscle groups; however, so do lat pull downs and pull ups and many people do both of those too. Regardless, the reason I do both is that Bent-Over Barbell Rows require you to use very good form which puts a lot of emphasis on other muscles other than lats (like legs, lower back, and core). During the T-Bar row excercise the bench provides nearly all of your base and foundation so you can really focus on form, motion, and contraction/extention of the lats as you do that particular excercise.

Edit: Naming issue. I thought by "T-Bar Row" you meant the machine version of what my gym calls "V-Bar Row".

even though you can't "confuse" your muscles, i like to bounce around between the different row excersises; one back day ill do t-bar rows, the next 1 arm dumbell, and the next maybe some barbell rows. just helps to keep the routine enjoyable while still targeting the desired muscles

I do neither, it think they are ****.
Give me seated rows, deadlifts and weighted pull ups instead.

barbell rows give an amazing pump, assuming you aren't jerking and stuff but seated rows are also rlly amazing for focusing on contraction =]

I stopped doing underhand heavy bb rows as they irritated my rotator cuffs. I do, however, do overhand grip bb rows, as well as t-bar rows bringing them up to my upper chest to really target the rear delts/traps. I believe in super-volume for back so I do it all, and it works pretty good.
