Help my Mother

Hey there folks, it has finally happend. My mother has been convinced that she is gonna loose some weight.

She needs back surgery and her doctor ordered her to loose 17.6lbs(8kg) in 3 months. Which shouldnt be hard some of you might think.

She is 57 years old, weights 238lbs(108kg), she got a heart disorder so she is taking medecine to slow her heart rate, she is more or less forbidden to do anything that gets her heart pumping cause it could mean her life. She can hardly walk, its 10-20 meters at a time perhaps. She also has diabetes.

She does have a stationary bike we got her, and im going to cook for her so thats covered.

What im wondering is, im trying to come up with a food plan that makes her loose weight but dont get drop in blood sugar for her diabetes. Also i need suggestions on some sort of exercise she can undertake that doesnt raise her heartrate by much.
