What am I supposed, to do, intentionally avoid foods I like because they have protein in them? I'm still only getting ~20% of cals from protein, and I don't go crazy over how much protein is in my food. The amount of protein I eat relative to my calorie intake is nothing compared to what people on this site think they need.

But....I really do take my shake to the gym .

I live almost 30 minutes away. Though it might not make or break a work out to have it in that 30 minutes, I'd rather receive what little benefit there might be in drinking it immediately PWO (plus, it tastes fukking great and quenches my thirst; win win win)

Proteins are way overrated. Surely they are necessary for building muscle and recovery, still i weight 226-227 lbs and i don't consume more than 210 g of proteins daily.
Key to a great body : a great diet with enough proteins, lot of sleep, not buying tons of supplements, proper form and dedication

3 Must have supplements : High-quality whey isolate, Multivitamins and Creatine

"the weight of current evidence suggests that strength or speed athletes should consume about 1.2-1.7 g protein/kg body weight."

So 125-175g of protein for the average male.

I don't count, but probably 175-200 grams a day. I don't go out of my way to get that much, its just in the food I eat.

Lol what? I think you've got your broscience wrong buddy.

Your body can't store protein so if your body has no use for it when you take it in, the nitrogen is removed and it goes through a process to be turned into glucose assuming your not in caloric excess, in which case it would be stored as fat beyond the point you needed it.

I don't know if you're kidding or not, I hope you are.
