    How to eat clean?

Ok I am sure there have been many questions on this topic and thousands of answers, but I don't have time to research that much info without going through hundreds of places to get the simple answers. If there are any simple answers.

How does one eat clean without eating the same thing day in and day out? I eat tuna and chicken breast without the skin and lean meats. I like fish and other good seafoods and I have all but eliminated the snacks and soda from my diet. I only have a beer or two on occassion compared to before I started training.

I need to keep things simple due to my work schedule, I dont have hours to prepare food for the week and keep in containers for the week. Plus what if one is sick of looking at that meal and then its wasted. Omg stay focused.

I just need a easy way to lose the most fat and gain the most muscle along with my protein and other supplements while making sure I get the nutrition I need. Can anyone help without giving me a lot of scientific jargon that makes it even more confusing. I hate trying to count carbs and fat, I just want to eat healthier without all the complication. Is that possible?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Can't quit, that is the one thing I can't do.

Everyone will have there own opinion of what clean foods are,but I take the "All Natural Approach".I don't eat or drink anything with artificial, flavors, preservatives, colors etc.Just look at the back of labels, instead of focusing so much on calories, carbs, fat, look at the ingredients,if it's made from chemicals develpoed in a labratory, put it back. The way I look at it,if it don't grow from the ground,or bleed,I don't eat it(except cheat day's,I have ice cream).

    These are excuses. Stop it!!

Clean eating=shopping the perimeter of your grocery store. You can do TONS of things with chicken and tuna. Fit TV has really good cooking shows and if you google paleo recipes you can lots of yummy ideas.

You ARE going to have to find time to prep for the week. Takes 1 hour, tops. Keep it simple.

Invest in a crock pot, they are great if you are pressed for time. Throw whatever you got in your fridge in there, let it slow cook.

Quick easy snacks everyone should have:
    Nuts
    Greek Yogurt
    String cheese (preferably organic)
    Nut Butters
    Salad

You are going to have to put in time into your food, it's overwhelming at first but once you get into a groove it's easy. Like anything, it takes practice. Just don't make excuses, food is your fuel.

It really isn't that hard to do but you if you have no self control you will fail. You buy, lean turkey, chicken, beef, fish beans, rice, quinoa, oatmeal, eggs, veggies and glorious peanut butter.

To keep it fresh I like having different seasonings around and grill veggies.

    step 1, no excuses

I'd make the meal for the next day each night before work and it would take less than 20 minutes cookings eggs, making a salad etc.

It might be hard at first but after a week or 2 it becomes clockwork

man it sounds like your only going in 50% on this. If you truly want to maximize fat loss and gain lean muscle, you HAVE to get serious about your nutrition. You cant go half-ass on that. Beer is great and all but will hinder you on fat loss, unless your doing cardio everyday to burn it off. Stop eating junk food, and start counting macros. Get a log book and start writing down EVERYTHING you eat and drink through out the day and tally it up every night. Thats the only way you can tweak your routine and eating habits to see progress. As far as eating clean, like everyone has said already eating clean is spending a little more time in the grocery store and selecting foods that are nutritious. Instead of cokes and beer go for water and orange juice. Its going to get boring man, but this is a lifestyle, you got to go 100%. Hope this helps you

You can easily eat clean without it getting boring if you know how to cook.

Diversification! Eating chicken breast day-in and day-out is boring. In fact, I think eating chicken breast period is boring. There are other great sources of protein. There are usually around half a dozen varieties of fish you can buy at your local grocery store (tilapia, salmon, cod, swai, halibut, sole, etc.). Then you have shellfish - an often overlooked, high protein meal. Try cooking up crab, shrimp, lobster, clams, mussels, oysters, or scallops. These are low-fat, low-calorie, high protein meals, and are really quick and easy to prepare. I usually find a tasty recipe and cut the butter use in half for a healthier concoction. I have enjoyed a lot of clams and mussels this way. Then you have all sorts of beef, pork, cornish game hen, duck, turkey, goose... there are so many options. Because you have a ton of protein sources to cycle through, and thousands of recipes to choose from - the meals should never get old! I look forward to each dinner because I always have something new on the menu. Tonight for me it's going to be crispy skinned duck and some red potatoes. And this is just for protein! It's easier to diversify the other macros because carbs are in tons of veggies, fruits, grains, etc. and fats... well I always get enough of those in the diet.

Eating clean doesn't mean getting rid of all fats, just be conscious of them and try to eat a balanced diet. Sure, my dinner tonight (duck) has a fair amount of fat on it, so I eat it sparingly as a protein source but it's still a lot of quality calories and protein! On a given week I will eat a fair amount of fish, less poultry, and then even less beef, pork, or shellfish. I think when you start feasting on overly-processed TV dinners and pizzas, or fast-food - that is when you start to eat 'dirty'. Eat a balanced diet of wholesome foods with minimal processing and diversify your diet and you're sure to enjoy eating clean.

EDIT: Aww 1-year old thread bump... FUUUUUUU
