Nasty computer virus
Yesterday as I was browsing the misc I opened up a link from wikileaks and instantely got a windows alert that something was trying to access the command prompt- I repeatedly clicked decline but the popup would repeat instantly again making it impossible for me to do anything so I restarted. Whether or not this is a result of wikileeks is uncertain, I downloaded a torrent shortly before which is more likely the cause.
It took longer than normal to restart and as soon as the desktop had loaded I knew I dun goofed, infection alerts were popping up everywhere. A fake antispyware program called Antivir Solution Pro opened and attempted to get me to purchase it to remove the infections... lulz. Here's the nasty part, I can't open anything without it opening a window saying it's infected- chrome, itunes, you name it. I decided to start in safe mode and take a crack at it.
-I did a system restore, restarted in normal mode only to get an error reading telling me restore didn't work. I guess the virus corrupted the restore points?
-I downloaded Avast antivirus and did a scan, found 4 "critical" level files which I deleted. Restarted computer, no avail.
-Ran malbyteware I believe it is called, found zero infections. Currently I'm in the middle of an AD-Aware scan.
Do you guys have any tips? I would like to get this fixed myself, I don't want to pay money to take it somewhere. I am aware of the fact I may lose all my data, it's not too big of a deal.
Oh and sorry if this is hard to read, I'm posting from my ipod

try microsoft security essentials. i think its free but requires valid windows on your system.
i think it helped me get rid of some sh*t when mbam and eset failed.
be careful though, it can detect alot of false positives, especially if you have cracked games/key gens so just know.

Download the Ubuntu Live CD, insert in PC, add ClamAV from the Ubuntu Software Centre and do a scan targetting your Windows system.

google avira antivir recovery cd.
It'll run before your HD boots up, so the virus doesn't go active.

Download malware bytes.
Restart your pc in safe mode with networking.
Run a scan with malware bytes.
Serious. I had a virus just like that a couple weeks ago.
PM me if I forget to rep you, I am mighty forgetful.

Should help:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/viru...r-solution-pro
And if you can't read this link then do what above said n restart in safe mode with networking then once it loads check your browsers proxy settings and disable the proxy because the thing you have installed uses a proxy server so your web doesnt work. Once you've disabled the proxy then your internet should work again in normal mode, then check the link.

Looks like I got it fixed.. malware bytes did it. The version I had I guess was outdated and would error when I tried to update so I downloaded a newer version. Found like 11 bad files and removed them, computer appears to be clean again.

jesus christ brah, i spent a few hours today getting my computer recovered from that anti virus virus. i ran spybot and malaware, but they only found other stuff.
then i went into my C:\users\[your user name]\local\appdata and found the files (3 of them) associated with when i got that virus and deleted them. took care of it.
