I'm writing this hoping someone can lead me in the right direction.
Let me first start by introducing myself. I am martial artist that practices mainly Kung Fu. I've always been interested in various methods of athletic training for quite some time, especially weight training. Though it is often perceived as an odd combination, I enjoy the benefits of each activity. Unfortunately, I've been weight training for quite some time now without taking any protein supplement or regulating what I eat (I just eat everything in moderation). I train Kung Fu 3 times a week, and lift 3 times a week. I am 5'4" and weigh 138 pounds.
Does anyone have any recommendation for protein for martial artists? This is probably a dumb question but is it possible to take protein without getting too big? Would I take protein shakes after martial arts training too? Obviously I don't know much about this stuff so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
