With gyms all over the place looking like that I truly wonder how anything in the world gets done - buildings get built, hospitals do surgeries, people create movies, wtf most of the efficient people clearly don't even lift.
Sure wasThat's going to be one heck of a cat poo ........
Haha, I am scared to do anything now. He did it!
Thank you. Not sure if srs on lunges, I don't do em, I stretch, I foam roll, I floss, but I do not do lunges.
Haha nature is scary. Thank you!
Awww!!! I can send you a sweaty gym towel, maybe that'll help?
Ah he was until yesterday. Thanks for the info though srs, always trying to learn everything kitteh medical related so I know what to do.glad to hear that panther is feeling a bit better. my cat started showing signs of prediabetes and was vomiting all the time and seemed to be having some backing up issues, too. i changed her food to this fancy wet food called BFF and she's doing really well on it. she's an older kitty. almost 13 now. you might try it if the vet thinks that would be a good idea. the carb count is super low. i think 6%, and since they are obligate carnivores that's good for them.
Haha, have switched many a time (or tried) to the expensive vet formulas because a pet had a medical issue, they avoid that food like the plague I'm sure knowing it cost $60 a bag.
Wow, blood poisoning from that!! Ok, now seriously afraid to unhook catfish, will have to text my dad and ask him to do it if I catch one haha.
Thanks!
He is quite ill now. Thank you, will update in next post.

Oh man, somebody's always sick up in Ham Manor. My older kitteh Panther is not doing well. Was great all weekend actually, eating, taking his meds easily, drinking, productive pooping. He seemed very meh yesterday, stopped eating, didn't look like he was drinking anything either. I took him back to the vet today, they did xrays to see how the GI issues were doing and he's actually fine there, but said yeah he looks sick, even a slight tinge of yellow like he may have a liver issue, and maybe there are two medical problems going on at the same time. They gave him fluids since he was dehydrated and some meds for nausea which helped a lot, he's eating and drinking a lot now. The vet took blood and they are testing for quite a few things to see what's wrong. I'll find out tomorrow, but things are honestly not looking good.

That's exactly why I rarely ever go there anymore. It drives me INSANE. I seriously spend more time picking up sh!t and running around trying to find what I need than I do working out. Mine was actually an Urban Active before LA Fitness bought them out. It was great when it was UA. It was clean and organized, the trainers actually had a clue, and the locker room didn't smell like azz and feet. It's been steadily and rapidly down hill since LA Fitness came in.

Poor Panther That seriously sucks. At least the nausea meds worked and he's eating again. Nothing like waking up the in the middle of the night to a cat wretching... Mine always made sure to do it in the middle of my bed too, or somewhere where I sure to step in it in the dark. Despite that grossness, I miss having kittehs. I'd have a house full of them if the bf didn't have a severe pet hair phobia/OCD issue.

I remember UA, we had one of those, looked really nice. I was the person who brought them their mini fridges and crates of quest bars.
Thanks, he hadn't been throwing up at this point though, refused to eat yesterday and this morning. Amazing how much he's happily eating after the injection they gave him.
We have a steam cleaner for the carpets, cause yes even with vaccuuming every other day you will get pet hair way down in your carpetting, just did the whole house a couple weeks ago. Like 8 hours after I finish yep someone had a hairball right in the middle of the living room! And these guys very rarely have hairballs, I guess they wait for me to do the special steam cleaning.
Oh lol, I remember those!!! Forgive me, I have not had my steak and mashed potatoes yet tonight, my brain doesn't work right without it.Current PRs:

Thanks. This poor guy has the worst health luck I've ever seen in any pet I've had, and yeah he's older but not like 16 or something where everything is going to start going wrong. He's got a slight heart murmur, the GI issues which we've been doing meds for like 9 mths, hypocalcemia in the blood (they never found a cause for it, we took him to a specialist and did ultra sound and all that years ago), itchy ears which he's been on meds for for many years, and now whatever is going on with him. Seems like Mystery Diagnosis for pets! Have done labs in the past to check for major stuff like leukemia, cancer, etc, I swear some of this has to be related to some bigger problem. Meanwhile his littermate sister I have too has never had so much as an ear infection, we just stroll in once a yr for a checkup.

Poor Panther Hope they figure it out soon. Glad to hear he's eating after getting some fluids. That is good news. Will be thinking about you guys and sending get well vibes your way.
I think puking on freshly cleaned carpets (or carpets in general even though there is a perfectly good hard surface less than an inch away) is the first thing cats learn at cat school! We have hardwood/ceramic tile throughout our house and a few area rugs here and there and when they do get a hairball, you can bet it is on one of the few rugs we have....or on the grout line of 18"x18" tiles...never in the middle of the tile! The second thing they learn is to run through the house 90mph at 2am while meowing like they are being murdered. I love catsMy journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=159386641

Thank you guys! I feel bad, for some reason I swore he was 8 and a half but he's only 6 and a half! I adopted him when he was an adult cat so we may not even be 100% accurate on the age, but he's certainly not way up there in age.

Kitteh update: Vet called with results of blood tests this morning, not good at all. (I may screw some of the medical terms up, there was a lot of medical stuff talked about today and much of it is a bit over my head.) Panther's red blood count is dropping and his body is not fighting off whatever sickness or maybe infection, maybe even cancer, whatever he has the body is not fighting it as it should. He is very anemic too (never had that problem before and he gets blood tests regularily due to other med conditions.) It's not directly liver failure but the liver has been affected, not horribly though. She suggested I take him to the big specialty animal hospital in NE Ohio - Metropolitan. They have specialists there for everything and can do anything there from major surgeries to CT scans to ultra sounds. She sent a referral so we could get in right away.
We did an exam with an internist and she explained more about the blood results and what it could mean and what they wanted to try. They are keeping him overnight to do an ultra sound, some other blood tests, start some antibiotics because they think it may be an infection, and will most likely do a blood transfusion because he rbc is still dropping. They've narrowed it down to two things - cancer or (crap I forget what it's called, prob can't even pronounce much less spell the condition) but anyways something that messes up the blood levels which needs a special medication to get back under control. If they do a blood transfusion it will be at like 2am, the internist will be there with him tonight, I approved it to be done if he needs it, it is very expensive but I'm certainly willing to try it if it's what needs to be done.
So hopefully it is an infection related issue and these meds they're trying can clear that up. That would be something he'd have to be on long term which is fine with me, seems like a fairly simple fix if that's it. They are worried about cancer though. The vet called me tonight and said the ultra sound didn't show anything worrisome so that's good news, but cancer is a possibility still. She asked what I wanted to do if this does end up being cancer. I know people who have been through that with their cat or dog, it's never ended well from what I've seen, and is very very intense, usually involving implanting a feeding tube because the pet won't eat, and chemo which I'd imagine to be awful for an animal since they don't know what's going on. I will not go that route if it comes to that, this poor little guy has been through enough and I won't make his life miserable just to try to keep him around a little bit longer for myself. He hates hates hates vet visits in general, I'm really the only person he seems comfortable around, and I wouldn't want him to spend most of his days around strangers and away from his home and family. When we go to the vet he literally clings to my chest and burries his face in my arm, he purrs when I hold him, but when he's up on the exam table he actually shakes at this point, he's a very timid cat, but sweet, never has bitten or scratched anybody.
The vet will call me in the morning to tell me the progress update. They should know what we're dealing with by then and what, if anything, we can do about it. If they do a blood transfusion the vet said they may have to keep him Fri night too which I'm not thrilled about. They have visiting hours though so if he must stay another night I'll go up and see him after work. I am very concerned that he does not realize I'm coming back, I hope he doesn't think that. And I hope they're being very sweet to him, I've been giving him his other meds for the GI issue and you have to be really patient with him and coax him, the meds taste awful, srs I tried a taste to see what we were dealing with. So whatever the prognosis is I really want to have him back home this weekend so he can be comfortable in his own home.Current PRs:

Thanks Drea-ham, we're trying everything to treat this, they are still confuzzled about what is causing the anemia.
Thanks Sophie, he ended up having to stay there another night. Hoping to bring him home very soon.
Decent news this morning, will update on the bottom, than you for the prayers and well wishes!
Ok, I shall head over there, I hope it's a fart joke, I need a good fart joke.
Thanks JJ, semi good news, we're trying.

Kitteh Update
Decent news from the hospital this morning, Panther is holding his own and did not need a blood transfusion last night which is good. They may do one this evening though, but it is good news his levels aren't plummeting quickly. They couldn't get him to eat and the vet wants to keep him tonight as well to continue the IV treatments of anti biotics and steroids to see if that helps. They are not finding much as far as a cause to the anemia, there is still one blood test out that she said will not come back until Mon/Tues, but the others and ultra sound haven't shown anything they can point to. If cancer, they suspect it is in the bone marrow.
I went to visit him today and the vet said I was free to bring anything food wise he may like, so I brought all of his favorite things - canned tuna, got some turkey from the deli, and a variety of his favorite canned cat food. He was thrilled to see me and purred and headbonked me the whole time of our visit, and I did get him to eat some of the tuna! I gave the nurse the rest of the food I brought so they could try to feed him what he likes, they were happy to do it too. He looks pretty good, still strong, was very happy today when I was with him, very alert and much better looking than yesterday.
I'll know more tomorrow morning when the vet calls to give me an update. If it is cancer she said there's not much that can be done with the anemia this bad, and I wouldn't want to do something as harsh as chemo anyways, so we would just have to find out how much time they think he'll have where he can still have a good quality of life. Whatever it turns out to be, they would like to let him go home this weekend.Current PRs:

Thanks Sophie!
Thanks, he did well last night.
Bahhahaha!! I've had the urge to find a mini viking helmet for Max, he puts up with that sort of stuff pretty easily though.
Thanks Jen!
-----------------------------------------
The nurse called me this morning to update, Panther did well over night, still no blood transfusion needed. His RBC is low but not falling into the danger zone, just kinda leveling off where it is, so that's good news for now. She said they did get him to eat last night too, with the foods I brought him from home. The doctor is due to call me in the afternoon to tell me all the specifics, and I asked the nurse what the plan was for releasing him, she did say it's likely they want to keep him tonight too since the IV treatments are helping for now so they want to keep going with it. I'm going to visit him today and am waiting for the vet to call first, I want to make sure I'm coming up at a time when they're not in the middle of a treatment. I'll see if it's ok if I bring him some more tuna and treats today.
Planning on going to LTF after the animal hospital. The hospital is 45min away from my house and I'll google how to get to the gym from there, at least it's Saturday so there's never much traffic on the freeway.Current PRs:

How's Panther, Hammie? Eddie's turned out to be very sick too. He's got something wrong with his liver and they are doing blood tests to try to figure out what, but it doesn't look good.
