Thanks, hopefully if I keep doing ice/heat and staying off of it it'll be somewhat ok in like a week.
Awesome, enjoy every rep my friend! I'm telling ya, even a sucky squat day is better than sitting around with ice down your pants, lol.
It seems slightly improved today, but I've only been walking around my house a bit. I think the drugs and sleeping in helped a little.
I'm going to the gym later to attempt a Back/Biceps day. I don't see it being a problem to do pullups, chinups, and lat pulls. I'm thinking it's a bad idea to do standing bb rows so maybe db would be fine? And standing curls, eh yeah, it's not a lot of weight so that should be ok I guess. No DL of course. RC work yes. If I can make a decent workout out of that then I should be able to rotate it with another day of bench press, military press, and RC work. I guess I'd rather have a knee/leg injury than a shoulder or back injury. I am kinda considering learning a little bit of hippie yoga stretching and doing it in the privacy of my own home as long as no one IRL finds out, heehee. Hip flexors and IT bands are tight as fark!
Oh and I took a sneak peak at the scale today, finally hit 169! Official weigh-in will be logged tomorrow, but I was curious.Current PRs:

Ah, thanks! I'm kinda hoping I can save the $12 extra and just get the classic because I have small hands. /cheap bastard One of the amazon customer raters said that you need the pros if you're lifting in excess of 300lbs, which for me will be...never, haha. Like I probably don't need the strongest? I dunno. My wrists are 5 3/4s inches. I needs me the extra small I think. I'm a pocket-sized amazon.
Sorry to hear about your leg. I just wanted to say, don't be surprised/alarmed if the lump does eventually bruise. My ex boyfriend plays soccer and one time he had an injury to his quad that left a lump like that and then like, I swear, ten days or two weeks later, there was a mega-dramatic bruise where the lump had been. Something about the blood coming to the surface. I was just reading something in Rippetoe about muscle fiber tears that mentions something about that--which I cannot look up, 'cause I'm in work without my kindle (so what goood am I?)--but anyway, when I read it, I was like, ohhhh yeahhhh, I remember when that happened to C."Eat some oatmeal, do some squats, how hard is that seriously."--Prof Ham

You know the weird thing is I have been foam rolling the past couple weeks, and really making an effort to do it on days I don't lift. I need to do some serious research and find out how to foam roll everything propperly, I'm missing IT bands/hip flexors I think. Thanks, cals have been spot on, it's paying off.
Thanks Gobbles! I usually injure parts of my upper body, so this is kinda weird, ugh.
Wow, you shorter people have small wrists! Definitely go by the size chart so you can secure your VGs the right way. Hmmm, well the only things I've ever gone as much as 300lbs on are rack pulls and shrugs (don't do those often and always used regular straps), but I can tell you I feel a lot better doing DL from 225-250 knowing these are the stronger version. I think they did say the Pro were a little longer in the strap too, but I mean if you don't have big sausage fingers like me you'll probably have plenty of strap to get around the bar.

I had a great day at the gym! I tried to walk around on my leg gingerly and replaced bb rows with db rows, didn't have an issue with anything else on this Back/Biceps day. I started with wg pullups first and was VERY pleased with the outcome. Also, I was too embarassed to take the elevator to the weight room so I limped up the stairs, haha. It was a struggle but I made it.

I'm very happy with this workout, felt strong and enjoyed my new playlist. The song America by Deuce is one of the best bloodthirsty lifting songs of violent Ham Rage I've ever found. I can't wait until I can DL, that's gonna be awesome! After lifting I went to the hot tub and stretched, then swam, then the sauna and stretched the hell out of my leg. The sauna is an amazing place, I can easily stretch out my leg in ways that are impossible without being in that kind of heat. I feel a lot better after that and can go up/down my stairs pretty normally right now, I can drive comfortably without my leg screaming, and I can sit and stick my leg up straight in front of me. I'm going to hit the sauna every day I have time and stretch like that.
Here's my new Ham Rage song:
Also I've made an awesome discovery - there's an option in Itunes to change the volume to about 200% on all your tracks! I get frustrated sometimes lifting because I wish I could put the volume up to a ridiculous level - BOOM, there we go!
I'm getting up early tomorrow to get all dressed up and go to the funeral. And yes, I'll post pics of the new outfit. And on that day, not a single Nike item was worn!Current PRs:

Great i-tunes tip. Always wondered why some songs are so quiet and some knock my eardrums out. Will try!
Hey, I had a thought about your leg pain/lump/possible amputation ....maybe you were using that area to stabilize the heavy stuff you were moving up and down stairs.
I know today will be emotional with the funeral and all, but looking forward to seeing "spiffy ham" picsCaring about what people think of you is useless. Most people don't even know what they think of themselves.

Thanks gobbles, it's doing a lot better since yesterday, I may be doing some light squats/DL this week.
Wut? Crazy Canada, ah well I'm sure that song will pop up as background in some of my lifting vids. Speaking of vids, I just signed up to stalk... er, I mean follow your youtube channel, lulz. Kill those legs woman!

Happy Sunday guise! I weighed in today at 169, BOOYAH! Alright, so I got some pics of dressed-up Ham for your entertainment, lulz. The funeral was nice and my friend and her family was very appreciative I went, and sent some flowers. This kind of stuff slightly weirds me out, brb hugging everyone (seriously my family is not into this AT ALL, so it's something I'm still getting used to), and there were a ton of people there, most of which I've never met. It was nice though.
This is what I wore under my dress shirt, just thought this looked cool from the recent weight loss:
Mirin' my swole forearm? (I do not have the ability to take pics of myself without throwing in some kind of flexing pose, theproblemsofham.jpg):

We mostly just went through the ON and BBing.com booths (like 1-2 hour lines) and got a bunch of great stuff. I took a pic for you
got 2 of the lean muscle (the other one was lunch at the expo) and 2 of the amino energy which I used today at the gym since I went straight from CBUS. Also got an ON/Arnold Expo t-shirt.
ETA--Please note the little brown keychain from ON
It was really really crowded and tiring but SO worth it! The strongman stuff was freaking CUH-RAZY!My Journal

Yeah, yeah, that happens sometimes.
Thanks H!
Oh Drea, I love you! Srs, thanks for the vids, I really need to start stretching out like this. I'm going to start these tomorrow. I watched all the vids and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't YET be able to get those stretching positions on the first attempt, but I'm gonna do what I can and practice those. Oh the one where the guy sat on his lower legs and basically put his back on the floor - um I think I would blow out my knees and back doing that, but maybe I can get like a 90 degree angle going at least, haha. I'll try this stuff at home (doors locked, shades down, lol) in the basement. I know this stuff is supposed to be great for you and yes I need better mobility in my legs/hips and I need to keep my knees out for squats so we're doing this! Thank you, thank you!
I think the whole thing that puts me off about yoga is the way these people speak (you're right, I want to punch that little sissy in the face!) It's much like the slow music they play when you get massages, it's very off-putting and makes me anxious. I don't get why they don't speak like a coach - more commanding and in your face. Anyways, when I can master these stretches on my own I'll be able to play Metallica in the background or whatever the hell I want, that will be my reward.
