Where the hell did you buy your equipment that wasn't totally overpriced?!
I went by two play it again sports and both were selling USED olympics weights @ $1 per pound. The hex weights (USED...) were over $1 per pound. The RUBBER WEIGHTS were $2 per pound.
I found a new 300# set at a store for $300 and thought that was too much. I GUESS I WAS WRONG!
I've been browsing craigslist/kijiji but haven't found any deals yet. I moved here when I was 21 from the US.. my parents still live there. I think I'm going to have them pick up stuff there and drive it up next time they come. Hell, I might make a day trip and save myself a ****ton of money.

For new equipment (not plates!), I go to treadmillfactory. I think they have a 300 lb Olympic set with bar for $260???
For Olympic plates, I go to Boomerang Fitness...it's owned by Fitness Depot and mostly sells used stuff, but I get new grey powdercoated Olympic plates there for about $0.90/lb.8/1/2009 - START FAT LOSS - 251 lbs

I live in Ottawa and got my stuff used off Kijiji/UsedOttawa/Craigslist.
For a new 300 lbs set, this is pretty much the cheapest I've seen:

I saw that one too. I'm thinking about grabbing:

http://www.treadmillfactory.ca/p-865...eight-set.html
http://www.treadmillfactory.ca/p-352...ower-rack.html
I'll just need to grab a bench (I want something rated at least 600 lbs) and some olympic dumbbells. It's amazing that these plates are cheaper than the used stores I went to....
