The same or worse because evolution has stopped in humans for the most part (no more natural selection; all reproduce).
In fact, the stupid are outbreeding the smart, so the average IQ, if left to natural devices, would probably drop.
Fortunately, genetic engineering and bionic enhancements to the mind (mind-machine interfacing) will change this. And not within 1000 years; within the next 20, and fully by the next 100.
In fact, genetic engineering's impact on intelligence will be minimal compared to mind-machine interfacing. Genetic engineering may take the average IQ to what is 200-300 today. Mind-machine interfacing on anyone will improve their intelligence to what is limited by computer hardware.
Basically, in 40-50 years, you will be able to increase your intelligence to over the equivalent of every person on the planet today combined for about $1000.
