well your buddy got my vote to. i have been in his shoes and know what it takes to drop the pounds. stepped on the scales (once i could find a set that would measure me) @ 450 6 months ago. the dr wanted me to start cholesterol meds on top of my bp meds. my wife didn't sleep much at night because of my sleep apnea that i denied that i had. i started my diet and started using the gym membership i had been paying for and not using. almost 6 months to the day i have dropped 75 lbs and still dropping. i know how important it is to lose the weight. i know how hard it is when you don't have the motivation to do the work. your friend can do it as long as he sets his mind to it the task at hand. whether or not he gets of the show he can beat obesity. it just takes baby steps. some times to go big you have to start out small. good luck to your buddy.

You do know the majority of the people who go on the biggest loser gain the weight back?
They push you to crying points in the gym just so you will lose weight for the show, they do not give you any aftercare or diet support when you leave, its simply entertainment for TV.
Could be the nicest guy in the world, but he would be way better doing it himself and learning as he goes, on that program they teach you nothing, you just follow the diet and do the exercise they tell you to, and the whole point in wanting to lose weight is wanting to learn how to better yourself and get your diet under control... the show simply does not do that.
