PreContest dieting give trouble with sleeping?

Hey, im currently 2 weeks out, been dieting about 11 weeks now. In the past couple weeks it would literaly take me 1-2 hours to actualy fall asleep, and its driving me crazy now because i havent slept properly in a couple weeks now. I tried eliminating caffine, but wasnt it. Has this happened to you to?

A couple things that might help......you can try saving some calories and place a larger meal close to bed time (perhaps youre just hungry?)......or look at your overall training volume and intensity. On a diet, you have to reduce your volume as you get leaner (while still maintaining adequate intensity to stimulate protein synthesis) in order to keep from overtraining. Overtraining can lead to poor sleep, which unfortunately becomes very cyclical because poor sleep doesnt allow for good recovery...

Very very common dude. I'm also 2 weeks out and I'm lucky to get 4 hours of sleep. I'm up around 5 am and part of that group waiting outside for someone to open the gym in the morning while it's still dark lol.

It makes me want to sleep every hour of the day.

The only disruption I get at night though is having to wake up every few hours to take a leak

yea dont sweat it man, it happens everytime to me the last month usually so i don't even get too worried about it anymore. Its actually easier for me to sleep during the day after my morning cardio session these days. Thankfully I bounce at night for cash so it works kinda well right now.

    Have you tried taking melatonin?

I've been sleeping like schmack too. It's the low carbs....very common. Even my melatonin isn't working well anymore. It sucks!

Try to work a carb meal pre-bed with your macros. Carbs help your body release seratonin which in turn stimulates melatonin production. 2 weeks out you probably don't have much for carbs left though
