    New, Need Help

I'm trying to start working out and I figured this is the right place to come for help.

    First of all, I'm about 6', 125ish lbs. I'm a skinny kid.

I just need a guide in the right direction for me to start out. I don't necessarily want to be huge, but I want to obviously build up some muscle which I have barely any of and be cut. Kind of get rid of my lanky-ness.

I obviously want to have the most effective results in the least amount of time. I know anyway I go, it's not going to be quick and it's going to require commitment, but the shorter I see results, the better.

    Thanks for any help.

Google stronglifts 5x5 and join a gym with some barbells and at least 1 squat/power rack. Gaining weight is all about calories, so its best to write down each meal nd how many calories are in it so at the end of the day you know. If youre eating a caloric surplus you WILL gain weight. There are calorie calculators online that tell you how many calories you need to maintain weight. +500 over maintenance is one pound gained per week. Do a lot of research on squat/deadlift technique, lift heavy and eat like crazy.

find a good program that hits one or two body parts a day, and eat alot! you being so skinny means its gonna be hard to gain weight, but on the plus you will be gaining lean mass and minimal fat. good luck

    Rule 1: compound lifts.
Rule 2: Heavy. (obviously heavy differs for each person, but you know what I mean)
    Rule 3: Squat and/or deadlift.

Alright, thanks for the help. Is there anything I can do at home without joining a gym at the moment? Free weights, push ups, pull/chin ups, benching, etc.?
