How much does 10% body fat weigh?

How much does 10% body fat weigh? Is 1% BF roughly 1.6 pounds in weight?

If a guy is 5ft9 range, 165lbs with 19 - 20% body fat, how much would he weigh if he lost 10% body fat without losing or gaining much muscle (just concentrated on fat loss and muscle preserve for the time being).

Pff.. the BF percentage of course is always based on the total body weight, how can you even think that 1% of bodyfat can be a fixed universal number? you're 31 years old seriously?

I think you're question really just is how much fat you need to lose to get down to 10% BF, right?

    Here ya go:
    165 lbs x 20%BF = 132 lean body mass with 33lbs fat
    132 lean body mass with 10%bf is 132 x 1.10 = 145.2lbs

So, you need to get from 165lbs to about 145lbs which is 20lbs fat loss. That is, if all you lose is only fat.

i see what your getting at, but truthfully does it matter? just figure out how much lean body mass you have and try to keep that steady while losing the weight.

    Is this a troll question???

Body fat percenttage is a PERCENTage of your weight. so 10% of whatEVER you weigh is fat.
I guess English schools are not good at teaching what percentages and math are

There REALLY needs to be a sticky about how to do the math to calculate body fat percentages....
A diet isn't punishment. A diet is a way to reward your body with the wholesome, nutritious food that it needs. Your body composition is a direct reflection of what you put in your mouth.

Your 132 x 1.10 is a little wrong. BF% is the % of your total weight which is fat, therefore, it should be 132/0.9 = 146.67 pounds. Then you see that at 10% body fat you have 146.67*0.9 = 132 (your LBM that didn't change).

20% body fat means LBM is 80%
    165 * 80% = 132 (LBM)
X10 is the new weight at 10% body fat with no LBM loss or gain.
    So
    X10 * 90% = 132
    X10 = 132*100/90 = 146.667
