Yea due to its high cost, I try to limit casein shakes to workout days. On off days, I try to just have some sort of dairy protein before bed-milk, ice cream, cottage cheese.

Which one are you taking? If you think its expensive look at Dymatize 12 hour protein it was pretty cheap. Fudge brownie tastes so good also!

UN milk & egg protein is not expensive at all... and like 41 servings... when you factor in "off days" it's the right choice for protein supplementation
you can find a 3 pound tub for like 25 bucks (before shipping)

damn, but lol!.....................man you should get your protein requirements daily; regardless if you are working out or not. If the casien is to expensive eat some cottage cheese. Ice cream is not what you should be doing on the regular.

glass or 2 of milk would work on non-workout days

Also... sometimes I eat 3-4 string cheese (each having about 8g protein with 20% whey 80% casein or so)
