Should I eat the same amount of carbs as i do on a workout day? Or should I cut down the carbs on rest days and just keep it high protein and moderate carbs? cheers

Im going to go crazy with this. It HAS to be my metabloism (or poor spelling) -- but ur eating 300cal a day more than me....and im bulking....and 6foot 200lbs.
Overall goal - 210-215lbs solid -- aka ripped.
When i eat around 2300 cal a day....i put on weight...seems to be about equal fat and muscle. For instance, two months ago i dropped down to 2000cal a day to get my abs to show for vacation. It worked -- also lost some size but nothing drastic. Now i want to clean bulk....make progress towards my goal. So im eating 2300cal a day. While im starting to put weight on (after 3 weeks) it appears to be mostly fat. My abs are vanishing and lowerback fat is appearing. If i were to eat 2500 or what others recomend (3500) i would get blow up to a masterdon and be blubber.
Now im also lifting 4 days a week and cardio for 2days. (one day off). I have one cheat meal on weekends and eat a high protein, low fat, mid carbs diet.
idk where im going wrong with this. Im about 1300 cal a day away from what im "suppose" to be eating to clean bulk yet im still putting on fat.

I tend to eat the same, mainly because i is easier to plan meals this way. I do replace my post workout shake cals with a lower calorie meal consisting of whole foods, it does end up having more fat and less carbs than usual but there is not a huge difference. I would say I maybe eat about 100 less calories.

I guess its ur body type.
Im around 3000-3200 cals/day right now, and i have not gained weight in 2 weeks. Working out 3 days a week.
Dont know what to tell you, other than your either not hitting it hard enough or your the exception (sorry bro).
@OP, ive read a lot on this and it seems most people say either lower carb & increase fats/prots to cover cals or keep it all the same. Ive been keeping it the same, and so far its working for me.Fierce Five log:

Im sure we all think it - and rightfully so- but id say im working it hard enough. I go for about an hour and do about 18 sets of high and light weight (i.e. bench 4X5, incline 4X10, flys 3X15, decline 4X8, and cable cross 3X8) etc. Then i finish all my lift days with a 6min walk at 3.6speed on 14incline (says i burn 104 cal average). Then i do my two cardio days for 1/2hr which is over 500cal burned. I also walk about 2 miles at work - and move around after gym (im the designated family "heavy" object lifter....yeeah for me).
Must be my body type which blows. Someone mentioned before that maybe my body has adapted to such a calories defecit that it will take time to rearrange it?? idk.
Few years ago - when i dropped 20lbs...i remember eating fast food everyday for one meal, and while ate healthy rest of day... i never fully watched what i ate or how much...and still lost weight.
as for the OP - id say it depends. Ive heard to eat normal cause ur off day is a recovery day thus ur body needs the fuel.... but then ive heard that since ur not working out...u dont need as much fuel or ull just store it as fat. Seems like theres a fine line u have to combine with ur overall goals. ID suggest keeping the cals the same and maybe switching in some carbs with more protien?

Everything stays the same for me for the most part. Only difference is I don't have a PWO shake on off days
