Is there anything wrong with getting the 8 core AMD chip? I feel like it would be a little cheaper alternative to getting an I7 so I can video edit and play games. I was thinking about getting this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...3376&CatId=332 and then adding something like a 7850 to it. Any help would be appreciated.

So the ivy bridge i5 would be better at video editing even though it has no hyper threading then the bulldozer?

Can somebody give me critique on my new build?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/86PI
Some questions I have are:
Will this power supply be good enough or should I get a corsair 750w?
And still debating on whether the i5-3570k + Z77 combo is worth it versus the i5-2500k + Z68 combo I had planned insteadwww.instagram.com/jasontran93

Yeah. The Bulldozers are actually really powerful if you can get a good OC on them, but the power draw is just insane. The CPU was built to be OC'd (which is the only way for it to beat the i5 2500/i7 2600) but when you OC it to the point where it's beating them pretty good you're drawing way too much power at that point. I'd get one and just throw it on my board since I have a 990FX, but honestly I'm worried OC'ing it would crush my PSU since I'm already running SLI 570s, the power draw of a Bulldozer at 5Ghz (which is reachable on the H100 if you get a good chip) is probably close to 400W, my 570s pull 450w at full load, and I have an 850w PSU.

Shopping around for parts for a new build. So far:
ASUS LGA 1155 - Z68 - PCIe 3.0 and UEFI BIOS Intel Z68 ATX DDR3 2200 LGA 1155 Motherboards P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
Corsair TX750
Corsair Vengeance 8 MB DDR3 RAM
Intel i5 2500k
Good?
I live in AK, so I'm really only going with Amazon as they honor free shipping to us.

Is building a simple computer desk a good idea? I want huge desktop area and all the ones I looked at were super expensive. I have enough wood to make 2 boxes with shelves and then I could just buy oak veneer plywood to put over them (Reinforced with 2x4's).

What are you brah's with Ivy Bridges getting for your temperatures? They're obviously known for running hotter than sandy bridge, but my i5-3450 is idling at 43-55 and reaching high 60's under load. Is this too high?
