Talking "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper!"

This common and simple quote is a great way to remember how to eat throughout the day. You should start the morning by eating a full, balanced and healthy diet with no real exemptions. As the day progresses, you should start to eat light and eat less carbs near the evening. This helps your metabolism progressively continue to work; as a result, towards the end of the day, you should sleep easily without feeling too full. Your body will continue to work throughout sleep and be ready in the morning for the cycle again. You should take in consideration if you're a morning person or night/evening as you may have to tweak this little saying a bit.

Wroooong....meal timing, frequency, amounts, etc...do not matter. Carbs before bed do not matter, how much you eat before going to sleep does not matter, eating breakfast does not matter...get your macros in and move on with your life.

I swear I read an article that had a title almost identical to that in a bodybuilding mag at some point.

I kind of do the reverse, bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, 7 pm dinner, then about 1000 calories at 10:30 right before I go to sleep.

Meal timing means nothing, like you've already read from the other posters.
And about having light meals at the end of the day to promote an easy sleep,i must say that for me,having large meals at night (stuffed) makes me sleep far better. This has to do with the parasympathetic nervous system's activation which is responsible for relaxing and digesting.

I'm glad more and more people are slamming sayings like this, they are total bull****, same with the eating 8-10 meals a day crap, does not matter at all, just do what you prefer and suits your life style, it won't make an ounec of difference when you eat, the only thing that is worth doing is pre/post workout nutrition, if you spend all day at an office does not matter.

And about having light meals at the end of the day to promote an easy sleep,i must say that for me,having large meals at night (stuffed) makes me sleep far better. This has to do with the parasympathetic nervous system's activation which is responsible for relaxing and digesting.
im exactly the same. if i ate nothing at night i wouldnt sleep much all night and then would suffer in the gym next day
