Neither really matters to me, so long as it doesn't hurt. The problem with girth that doesn't exist with length is that girth can't be changed, length can be controlled through the guy not just hammering it in as hard as he can and as deep as he can.

The question should be changed from "does size matter" to "does it have to be big."
