NPC bikini- shoes must be clear??

I just got a great gold bikini for my first show. I see that most women wear the clear acrylic shoes- is it a total no no to wear anything else? I found a pair of tan, satiny strappy heels with gold metallic embellishements. I thought they would go well with the bikini plus keep the nice long line of the leg since they are skin toned. Most of the clear heels have silver on them and I thought they might clash.

I would say play it safe and go with the traditional clear heels.This is because having shoes that are a different color or style might distract judges from your physique. Also, since bikini really focuses on overall appearance (hair, make up, etc), a couple of the judges may decide to penalize you because of your heel non-traditional heel selection.

thanks girls- I'll def go with clear. i'm an still on the fence about competing anyway.... 6 weeks till I decide than 4 more to prep!!
