Macros question... Asking for my wife.

So I know what works for me but have less knowledge when it comes to female nutrition. My wife has recently gained some weight and sought the advice of a nutritionist who advised her to follow a 30/40/30 split (P/C/F). I've always followed a 40/40/20 split and she knows this. She's wondering is 30g is high? So for anyone who knows does this seem off to you? And for any women who have ever followed a similar macro split, what kind of results did you get?

Do not use a macro split. Ever.

Hit protein minimum of .8g per pound, fat minimum of .4g per pound; once those are met fill remaining calories out as you like with protein/carbs/fat.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Does this hold true for people who aren't working out/lifting? Is it a basic "diet principle" per say?

MIMIMUM. Minimums never change; though the protein could go down to ~.6g per pound with no issues for a non-lifter.
