Eating tuna straight out of the can?

I just noticed each can of tuna is worth a HUGE... 40g of protein!

Does anyone ever just eat it straight out of the can so you dont have to have annoying sandwichs? (Of which the bread contains CRAP carbs.)

My aim is 140g of protein a day which im finding difficult to do... But this little trick would deffiantly help me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Shiraz.

I'd stear clear of canned food. Aren't the lining of cans coated with endcocrine distrupting chemicals?

so you're saying whole wheat bread is CRAP carbs? I dont think so.

It depends on what you're trying to achieve pal, If your trying to get lean maybe a can of tuna and some nuts might be a good afternoon snack. if you're bulking well then you'd probably scrap the sandwich and go for a tuna pasta

I eat my tuna with hummus or plain yogurt (instead of mayo) without bread...you could always eat it on Ezekiel bread, or a whole wheat pita.

Yes eat it out of the can. Chunky Light in water if you plan on eating everyday as alborcore is not recommended daily because of mercury content. It's not enough to hurt you but in the long run everyday it maybe bad. Can't go wrong with Light. I think the FDA or some gov site has the info I just above.

Excellent source of protein and omega3.

If you want to switch it up, I take 1 can tuna and blend an egg with Mrs Dash Grilling seasoning (salt free - can has enough) and grill it with evoo on both sides for a few mins and its like 10x better then a burger.

I sometimes eat it straight out the can. Just have a glass of water nearby because sometimes it can be difficult to chew/swallow...or maybe I drain it too much.
I start my day with oatmeal and end it with cottage cheese.

strongly agree with the water statement. It's tough to get down without something to drink on. I usually have some milk or water if I eat it straight out of the can. Another way I eat it is slap it on some whole wheat bread with some pickles and mustard.

I usually put it on a salad, but straight out of the can is delicious. I just drain the water and dab some hot sauce (0 cals, ha!) on it for extra flavor.

This. OP, why have you dubbed bread as being a crap source of carbs? Maybe they're not the best, but at your weight pretty much no carbs are bad.

OP, what exactly is the predicament you're in? That you don't know whether it's socially acceptable to eat tuna by itself or are there other things that worry you?

Just remember you CANNOT bulk effectively without a good amount of carbs... you need more carbs than protein if you wanna bulk properly, so don't cut them out if you're trying to gain weight/muscle.
