Sorry - I didn't really know where to post this, but I've read on a few body building websites, that Shrot bursts, of real intesnse sprinting is supposedly good for your body.
Is this complete fiction? Just a silly assumption?, or actually a good idea...
If your goal is go mass-bulk, on your rest day, is it okay to go for these type of sprints?
100m dashes for eg, or is it a complete waste of time and have very little effect with regards to a gaining program.

Is it a bad idea to Sprint?

Yup, it is true. It has an anabolic effect on the body because sprinting is anaerobic...like weight training. It can not be maintained for long periods of time, so when you sprint, you release all sorts of good hormones. Plus you'll maintain more muscle since your using higher threshold fibers. All in all, it is the best form of cardio if your in good shape and can endure its pain, but if your a beginner you might want to ease your body into sprinting.
