A liquid diet is a fad diet. Fad diets can provide quick weight loss, but they also result in quicker weight gain, plus some.

A liquid diet is pretty much a fast, robbing your muscles nutrients. This, in turn, makes your body hoard fat, and lowers your metabolism. In the end, you are left with less muscle, and more fat.

Probably not the answer you want to hear.

If you are serious about losing weight you should take the time to do it properly so you are not starving your body, and don't put it back on. Try eating unprocessed foods and drinking a lot of water.

Can you give me an example about what you eat for a good diet? I am not looking for a fad, but would like to lose it in a healthy way. I am just getting frustrated

You can watch your starchy carb intake, such as potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, brown rice, etc. Eat more non-starchy veggies with your protein.

So you don't crash and burn, try rotating your starchy carbs, and as you cycle off of them, replace them with non-starcny carbs. Of course, eat some protein with each meal. Non-starchy veggies are low in calories, don't cause an insulin spike, and they fill you up. You may need to increase you essential fats when you lower your starches to provide needed calories, and for energy. Water is important, at least 16 oz between meals.

Back in the late 70s, the "Protein Drink only" diet was really popular. I went that route for a while...until I wised up. Yes, you lost weight, but at what cost? Miserable, no energy and you could to into ketosis as you were not supposed to eat any thing else...period. Some women actually became ill and a few died while on this fad diet for a long time.

    MsFit's advice is best.....

"Fad" diets are just that.....and can do more harm than good.

Well, here is what I started eating. Usually in the AM I have been eating egg beaters and dry toast. FOr lunch I have a lean cuisine frozen meal. For snacks I have been having an orange in the AM and a yogart in the afternoon. For dinner I usually eat something lite. I know that there is better way to eat like more protien or specific foods. What do you guys usually eat for dinner. RIght now my kitchen is being redone so we have no way to cook besides the microwave.

For working out I used to run, but I have been having problems with my knees. I haven't been going to the gym as much as I shouild, I need some motivation

Well, I joined a college women's strength class because I thought my knees would not take an aerobics class. Never did any before.

You could get some dbls and a bb set to begin working with those on a basic routine. Be surprised just how quickly those 10 pounds will go with that diet. Much easier on the knees and the leg exercises (i.e. Lunges, extensions) will help strengthen the muscles around that area.

Try doing this 45 minutes to hour three times a week.....or twice if you can....to lose those pounds.

Hit the weigths everyday with short rest periods, plenty of sets, 8 rep range area, keep caloric intake to a little over half of your bodyweight, have most of your food as either lean source of protein like chicken and/or milk based protein powder (Protein Plus by Metrx since it digests much slower than whey and a study(ies) have shown it to be more effective in retaining muscle/losing bodyfat as well)

Have a carb up day around day 5 and you should lose some bodyfat. Might want to throw in some kind of fat burner in there such as the EC stack or its herbal equivalant. Also make sure to take a good dose of fish oil, preferably a more concentrated source since we want to get the good partioning effects fast.

Ive done crazy stuff like this with good success, but of course can only do this on a rare occasion since my body (and most other bodies) metabolism crashes.

One principle that has worked best for my husband is to eat protein at every meal (as mentioned) and to combine protein and carbs as a meal OR protein and fat, but never fat and carbs or all three together. I can't remember why this is good, but I'm sure someone here can say why.

And then all the usual stuff: no starchy carbs, no simple carbohydrates, lots of water, etc. etc.
