    How many mg's of Caffeine is too much?

    The title says it all, How many mg's of caffeine in a day is too many? Also does anyone know how many mg's of caffeine are in a scoop of Jack3d?

    I can't comment on jacked as I don't know it's content, but how much is too much is open to wide interpretation.


    We use 50mg. There is an MGN product that has over 1 GRAM of stims.

    The decision comes down to the user.

    I' ve been told by my doctor that 300-600mg per day for a healthy, excersizing, in shape person is safe.

    Jack3d has 60-70mg per scoop I believe.

    Most people prefer not to go over 200mg at any one time, but several products have 300-400mg caffeine per serving.

    It's all based on personal tolerances. Generally advisable to use as little as possible while still getting the benefits you want.

    Thanks. Basically I'm on OEP right now which has 100 mg a pill. I don't take in any caffeine during the day unless its in a supplement (don't drink coffee or pop etc). Since I am on OEP I thought I would go on a caffeine free pre workout but I just can't get anything out of that. So I was thinking of just taking one scoop of jack3d a day. With three OEP pills a day I would still only be at around 400 mgs of caffeine a day.

    Caffeine is not the issue when stacking OEP & Jack3d, 1,3-dimethylamylamine is. I'd suggest doing some research on that compound, and if you must use a stim pre-workout I'd go with one that doesn't contain 1,3-dimeth (such as White Flood, Vengeance, Vasocharge, ASGT, etc)

    I wouldn't exceed 600mg a day (spread throughout of course), but use as little as possible for the effects you desire. Caffeine withdrawal is no fun.

    200mg= 1 cup of coffee....

    I'd say anythng above this...is a no no.. thats just me though. If you must take a large amount of caffeine..spread it throughout the day.

    1,3-dimethylamylamine is no substance to mess with, it's a very powerful stimulant and I don't think stacking 2 supplements with unknown amounts of it in them is a smart idea.

    ahh, i see..total amount of product when combined.

    i agree with you; but like anything, tolerance will always play a factor. there are many who have stacked both of those products - some even at max dosing - with no issue whatsoever.

    while i'm not advising such, of course, my point is that there is no one size fits all.

    But you're missing the point. Even on it's own, 1,3-dimeth has no research...long term effects, etc.

    Just because you have no noticable issue doesn't mean there is no negative effect. As with a lot of substances.

    Atleast caffeine has research.

    the other being, there are no established indications that long-term use is harmful in any way, either.

    it's really a moot point.

    do you want to defend the use of every ingredient Gaspari uses as well, that could potentially have long-term effects?

    I wasn't here to talk about Gaspari's line of supplements, nor argue with you. I am aware (as are most of us) that some ingredients in the supplement world haven't been extensively researched, if at all.

    My only cause for concern is that 1,3 dimeth has only recently become popular, and most companies jumped on the bandwagon very soon after... mixing it with many other things. I did not say it was good or bad... I'm just weary of it that's all, especially after some of the turns this industry has taken in terms of stimulants.

    it gives me real bad acid reflux and messes with my training. I had to give away jacked and quit taking PSU.

    3 scoops is the MAX dose of Jack3d you should take, and it is recommended to start with .5 scoop to 1 full scoop to assess tolerance.

    I'm fully aware of that, my tolerance to Jack3d grew faster than any other pre-workout I've tried, after a couple weeks I wasn't feeling anything from 2-2.5 scoops so I bumped it to 3..

    So, "no wonder" I got heart palpitations from the max dose, yet you don't see anything potentially dangerous with this substance?

    no, actually that is far from a foretold conclusion.

    that simply means you had reached your tolerance for one time use, and is indeed indicative of such.

    it is not in and of itself indicative of long-term heart damage or presumed aggravation of such.

    if anything, 1,3-dimethylamylamine downside is that, like you mention, can be short-lived in effectiveness when used consecutively for a fair amount of time.

    most preWO supps are this way of course, but Jack3d seems to burn out rather quickly, from what i've experienced and others have reported to me.

    Yeah I know that. I tried RagNOrok caff free but got absolutely nothing from it so I am going to stack mine, but limit myself to just one scoop of Jack3d.

    In the past my friend and myself tried the EC stack which involved 200mg caffeine pills. We were both around 250lbs at the time and while he could take several pills throughout the day I felt the effects were too much if I took one and had some pop.

    I think tolerance plays the biggest role here. Just be weary of how much other caffeine you may be ingesting through other things like pop, coffee, energy drinks, etc.
