Hello Everyone,
As you may, or may not, know we lost Yuri Verkhoshansky recently. He was the father of plyometrics and one of the best sports performance researchers in the world. Of course there are no secret soviet methods out there but... a good friend of mine wrote up an excellent tribute and summary of Yuri's training methods. You can stop by:
http://evolutionaryathletics.com
to read it. It is a pretty extensive summary of his training methods that you may want to save or print out.
Enjoy

All those who train themselves or train athletes should read this review. It really is ridiculous how much free information is available via Prof. Verkhoshansky's website.
His material can be hard to follow, but once you become familiar with his terms you will find his information on methodologies and theories invaluable.Off-Season Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=120401851

According to Natalia (Verkhoshanksy) more publications will be brought to his site and James (Smith) said that the 2nd SST Manual will be the most comprehensive text ever written.
One thing with Verkhoshansky's literature is it is quite consistent as you find the same methods, means, theories, etc. throughout all the texts (a la Supertraining, SST Manual, SSTM Articles, Programming & Organization, etc.) I find it to be somewhat 'redundant' not in the sense of meaningless, but since his literature can be hard to decipher constantly coming across the same 'thing' over and over really helps you grasp what he is trying to say.
After reading Supertraining his articles were much easier for me to 'understand' in the context of a holistic view.
Edit: I'm actually going to use The Stimulation Method (Tonic-Phasic) tonight to test several different jumps, sprints, and med ball throws, checkout my log later as I'll probably have a pretty long write up as this is the end of my first Block of preparation.Off-Season Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=120401851
