    which tuna is mercury free?

if the regular tuna i buy was mercury free, i could get all the protein i need per day(1g per lb) for only $3. It isnt however, and seeing as the recomended weekly allowance is only 2 cans, I feel like i could be on to something cheap and effective. do you guys ignore the mercury warning or do you get mercury free tuna, and if so, where?

I don't believe there's a "mercury-free" tuna, however light tuna has lower levels than albacore/bluefin does.

Yup, chunk light has lower levels, but there is no mercury free tuna.

Maybe some "organic" "health" brand from somewhere like WholeFoods?

    I'm just guessing here.

I ignored the mercury warning for a couple of years. I ended up suffering from chronic mercury poisoning, which is no fun, and takes years to recover from. If you eat NO other seafood, at 150 lbs., I would recommend five cans per week at most. If you do, less than that.
