It's a pain to have to get out the blender, add all the ingredients and then clean the blender and do the same the next day. Can I make a weeks worth of protein shakes and keep them in the fridge or freezer and still get the same nutritional benefits when the shake is days old???
My protein shake usually consists of: Whey, Skim milk, egg whites, ground flax

YEah those bottles with the wire ball work good, or an electric hand blender is easy to use and quick to clean:

Your not really putting much in there that you cant just hand shake it in a shaker cup or something similar. Just pour it all in there, shake it like hell for 5 seconds and your done. Unless your putting something that doesnt mix easily like peanut butter or berries or something i cant see why you need a blender.

This isn't what we are speaking against. We are just frustrated with the OP saying "ugh its a pain to use my blender!" When
a) he doesnt need to use a blender to begin with
b) it isnt hard to use a blender. (the full cleaning procedure they suggest is BULL CRAP by the way. I make my smoothie, dump it into a cup, then simply fill the blender with hot soapy water and run it for 10 seconds. my whole blending process takes about 2 minutes..)
Theres a difference between wanting to know how to plan around a busy schedule and wanting to eliminate something because "its a pain"

There is a huge huge difference between cooking a few days worth of chicken or rice.
vs......not having enough time to throw 2 scoops of whey in the blender, some ice some oats some pb a bananna or whatever the case may be.. OP I mean really?
If your too lazy to wash the thing, how about you leave it soaking in soapy water. Amazing huh...The Iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and hear all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The Iron will always kick you the real deal. The Iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds. ~Henry Rollins

Yea, that's true. I use the blender twice a day, though, and it honestly is a pain. I short it, though, by rinsing immediately after I pour. It doesn't get put away. But yea, you're right. I moved the context. For a lot of people, though, convenience is the difference between a healthy dose of protein and a pack of preservatived crackers. Or worse! :O

This is a really old thread but I found it as I was checking into making my protein drinks in advance. Just an FYI if someone asks a question and then gets chewed out as being lazy then they might think trice about ever asking a question again and that goes double for someone new to or scanning the forums.
Who the hell cares if the guy wants to make his shake ahead of time and hates using the blender. I hate using the blender and the shaker too. If I can make it ahead of time its is also a matter of convenience and KNOWING that you have the milk you need and the kids didn't drink it all and my shake is safely in the fridge......
I just found the responses super rude and everyone has things they just don't like doing. I hate transferring clothes to the dryer. Does it take long? No but I just find it annoying for whatever reason. This guys hates the blender. So what. I am sure there are small annoying tasks in your lives that if given the chance you would be happy to never do again.
People join this forum to be encouraged and get advice etc. Not to be called lazy and be brought down. Very disappointing!
