Seems like a great state to live in, but are the whites there racist? Looks pretty diverse so I dunno. Are the whites just segregated from everyone else or do they love hispanics down there? I've only met one guy from Texas. He had a Mexican wife and HATED blacks. Pretty cool guy actually.

The cities (Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio) are basically just like any other major city in the US. The populations are diverse so nothing is going to change much.
The outlying small towns are hit and miss but really everyone is basically very friendly.

It's an interesting mix, stereotypical southern style racists, maybe look towards east Texas, but a bit of that has changed over the years from what i'm told. It's not like it was back several decades ago. South-Southwest is mostly a mix of Hispanic and white folks. Central-North Texas is mostly white/black and to a lesser degree Hispanic.
Bigger cities are going to be more diverse, obviously, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston etc... you're stereotyped "rednecks" are from the various small towns in Texas, and they're actually, usually, good people, just don't talk crap about the country/Texas/the war/troops or religion and they'll usually accept you.
Oh, and it's not just white folks who can be prejudice. A lot of old school Hispanics looked down upon other Hispanics if they were darker, true talk.

In the cities there isnt much racism, many of the cities are just like regular american cities and are quite developed.
But I guess there is a stronger hate for illegal immigrants there though, considering texas is right on the border and probably have a 'bigger' problem with illegal immigrants than most of america.

Sometimes, but I mean darker as in darker brown. A lady I worked with (light skinned Hispanic woman)grew up next door to her husband (darker brown Hispanic) as kids, and her grandmother wouldn't let her later to be husband into her house because he was too dark. It's an old school Mexican class thing I was told.
