Does anybody have experience with Chromium Picolinate?

Hey guys, I was reading a bit about Chromium Picolinate after my brother mentioned it to me (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/chrompic.html ), and I noticed that on bodybuilding.com it mentions how it can be helpful for burning fat. Does anybody have any experience with this supplement? Also, would it be safe to take with a N.O. supplement.

    Thank You

I was taking this with VPX Meltdown in the mornings. Then I had MAN Vaporize three times a day with food and noticed a nice loss of 10lbs or so with that stack. Hard to single out the CP but with this stack it helped.

Like any other Vitamin/mineral , fixing a deficiency will help. Overdosing will not.

Minimal conclusive evidence in the literature supporting its efficacy.

I'm taking it and from my expirience, if it does help, it's minimal. Good diet is the key.

Anything I can't pronounce seems like a waste of money to me.

I prefer more simple tools like d-i-e-t and w-e-i-g-h-t-s.

    Shame I can't pronounce cardio

There is some evidence to suggest that chromium picolinate may reduce carbohydrate cravings. Occasionally patients with atypical depression are recommended chromium picolinate to reduce carb. cravings. Additionally there is some research suggesting that it may produce an antidepressant effect in some.

If you have access to PubMed here are links to the articles I know of, check them out for yourself, as with most supplements there arent a lot of reliable studies out there.

Docherty JP, Sack DA, Roffman M, Finch M, Komorowski JR (September 2005). "A double-blind, placebo-controlled, exploratory trial of chromium picolinate in atypical depression: effect on carbohydrate craving". J Psychiatr Pract 11 (5): 302–14. PMID 16184071.

Davidson JR, Abraham K, Connor KM, McLeod MN (February 2003). "Effectiveness of chromium in atypical depression: a placebo-controlled trial". Biol. Psychiatry 53 (3): 261–4. PMID 12559660.

Sorry, if this sounds too formal, I've been in school to long, lol..

The science is sketchy and conflicting on Chromium Picolinate. I can tell you I've tried it probably 10 times in the last 15 years of lifting and it's never once had a tangible effect.

I bought a bottle for $8 and haven't noticed anything. Add the conflicting research and it's a waste of money, IMO.

I'm using it now, but I can't say that I'm noticing any results because of the CP. If you're taking a good multivitamin, you're probably getting what you need as far as CP goes. I won't buy any more once I use up what I've got.
    Moving forward.
