Anybody interested in media related products beyond editing? I say that because I've got Adobe Create Cloud (14 major programs) and it behooves me to learn as many and as much about these product as I can while I have them recent.
Any product you interested in learning or are curious about you can talk about them here. I know its an impossible task leaning even one or two, but if can even learn a little bit about half of them I'll be ahead of the crowd. A backup, if you will.
In addition to Creative Suites I've got Media Composer 7, Pro Tools 11, Cinema 4D, and the Auto Desk Suite 2014. Today, I'm working with After Effects CC.🎥

Someone please slap me if I ever get that pretentious!
I've been a pretty busy boy lately, invented some new beauty light setups, shot some more narrative shorts, music videos and spec commercial and have some pretty exciting larger-scale projects coming up. Also just picked up an agent for my cinematography work, so hopefully that'll help bring in some extra work.
Hopefully I'll be able to share some of it soon.
I've also just designed a custom shelf for my ute (that's a pickup truck for my friends across the pond), and had that built. Makes loading gear SO much easier now. Used to take about 45 minutes, now I've got it down to just 17 minutes! (which is money straight back in my pocket).

ya, they will put the price back up to normal once they've cleared enough stock before releasing the new Pocket Camera.... The S35 2.8K resolution version with higher ISO and better sensitivity, audio metres and other bells and whistles...
Lol, agreed that it's wanky. But, I'd prefer to have that mind set (obviously passionate and caring about his art) over the one of all the kids that go buy a camera, turn it on, point and shoot and call them selves cinematographers.

Yeah they probably will discontinue the first one... but I think first they will put the price of it back to normal for a while, then announce the new one.
What I'm saying is: I don't think they will keep it at this price indefinitely until the new one is released/announced. This price drop is like a last minute sprint to get rid of as much stock as possible before they announce the new one.If abs are made in the kitchen how come hardly any women have them?

Did a same day edit for the event this past Saturday. I feel like it was a big improvement from my first one. Most likely due to me not being drunk the entire event lol.

I didn't care for her being naked at all to be honest, I was actually surprised she looked chunkier than normal and I guess there's no more arguments about whether or not her breasts are natty or enhanced.
Were you at least interested in the way it was made with the hidden cameras etc?If abs are made in the kitchen how come hardly any women have them?

Well I can think of at least one exception and this is the documentary. Even so, I haven't seen it so I can't comment. We're filmmakers not playwrights so that would be an emphatic no for me. I had planned to write a feature by the end of the year. But that's a tall order within the next 5 months. Still, at 1 page a day, not out of the question. Now all I need is the outline.

SPOILERS:
She went around picking up dudes in her van and sucking them through the floor for what seemed like two hours. I wasn't until the end we are let in on what all that sh!t was about.
IMO, it was a lousy payoff to watch a movie for God knows how long and not know what the fuk is going on, only to find out it was a film about an alien who needed skin and how she went about getting it.OLD MOVIE CREW

I really, really liked it too. And that's coming from someone who tends to struggle with abstract filmmaking - I think it was a really successful experiment in narrative. The slow build as she slowly finds some humanity really worked for me.
I can understand why it's a divisive film though.

Some do. Flaherty's Nanook of the North certainly told a story. As did When The Mountains Tremble by Nobel Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú.
Nevertheless, so documentaries such as the 1929 film Man with a Movie Camera was merely a series of images in a montage. Others are even more avante garde (documentaries by the poets) and even after close inspection seem to have no story or connection to reality whatsoever. Containing only shapes, forms and patterns. These add a new (Or is that old?) dimension to the term abstract.Last edited by KRANE; 07-29-2014 at 06:55 PM.

Yep haha.
I thought it was pretty obvious WHAT was going on, just not why (which isn't needed).
Many euro "arthouse" dramas wait until the middle/midpoint of the film for the first turning point/inciting incident/etc, then the real story takes off.
I read one review that said it was harder to understand and more confusing than Upstream colour... I was like "U wot m8?", to me, it was strikingly obvious, maybe just because it spoke to me more personally or something?
To me, Upstream Colour was like this:
***SPOILERS*** (maybe)
FLOWERS PILLS DRUGS PIGS GUN BANG. The end.
Yeah, I can definitely see that, hence why I asked in here. Just to see people's views. If abs are made in the kitchen how come hardly any women have them?

Yeah, as a person who enjoys studying stories, I'll stick to the films that want to tell one...lol
I'm definitely not trying to dissuade anyone from this film, just was giving my view.
I just prefer a more straightforward story. I guess I'm used to a movie that gives you a reason to watch from the beginning.OLD MOVIE CREW

Two of my favorite videos shot on blackmagic. When I get mine I'm planning on shooting visuals poems just as practice for narration.

haha yeah it's pretty freakin amazing, but I believe him (my comment was just joking). I've played around with my 600D footage and even thought I'm not close to him, I can see how it could be with more skill
The thing that boggles my mind is how he gets his grain to hold so well after online compression. I'm convinced he's paid Vimeo extra for less compression or somethingIf abs are made in the kitchen how come hardly any women have them?
