Tell me about it. I hope this brings more fans to soccer. The MLS is not that great, however the SerieA, EPL, German league and SPL are terrific. IMO.

They should have had a goal long before then. They failed to capitalize on so many opportunities, it was infuriating! Still, glad they made it out. Now let's hope Germany comes in 2nd or all we will have bought is one more game.

Edit - I did my math wrong. We need to hope Germany wins the group.

After that bad call disallowed the goal earlier in the game I was sure we'd be cursing the darned refs for the next 4 years, but thankfully Donovan pulled one off in stoppage time. Awesome result! Group C winners!

If you watch the replay, the offside call was a good call. Had he waited just a few seconds more, it would have been onsides, but he did jump a little too early.

As for US v Germany, we will get our asses handed to us. I do not want to see that match up just yet.

What does it matter? We could go back and forth all day with things that other countries say that are "strange". I fail to see the point considering I am sure you knew what I meant.

And, outside of "SouthPark: The Movie," I have never heard any Canadian say "aboot." "Eh" seems to be the catchword about Canucks--I rarely use it. On the other hand, I live in Japan and speak Japanese to my wife and children half the time, so I've lost a lot of my "Canadian-ness" (if there's such a word and I know there isn't).

Anyhow, 'grats to the American side. I don't think they have the skills to beat any of the top teams unless they're very, very lucky but I sincerely hope they do well and give a good account of themselves.

The camera angles for most of this tourney have been aweful, making it difficult to really tell. The bigger point, and best part, is that the USA team stuck with it and didn't quit. They have a great draw, rather play Ghana than Germany first. England will have their hands full.

I agree. He was onside. Seems like the refs did everything they could to try and keep the USA out of the knockout stage. I am not a cosniprcy theory guy, however there has been a lot of anti-American sentiment in SA for some time.

Only two players on the USA squad were born outside the States.
Holden was born in Scotland but moved to Texas when he was 10.
And Feilhaber was born in Brazil but moved to New York when he was 6.

So I think it's safe to say that team USA is all-American.
