    Packets of Oatmeal vs. Oats?

    Can you get away with eating the packets of quaker oatmeal on a cut, such as maple and brown sugar?

    The boxes of these are cheaper than the oats right now, $1 a box at frys.

    I eat them everyday on a cut or bulk. Mix regular and flavored oats together.

    WHOLE GRAIN ROLLED OATS (WITH OAT BRAN), SUGAR, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, GUAR GUM, OAT FLOUR, CARAMEL COLOR, NIACINAMIDE*, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, REDUCED IRON, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE*, RIBOFLAVIN*, THIAMIN MONONITRATE*, FOLIC ACID*.

    *ONE OF THE B VITAMINS


    The sugar content of these babies is more than a bowl of fruity pebbles, but if you can fit it within your daily calories (which you should because one packet gives you 160 calories), then eat up.

    Regular oatmeal has the ingredients:

    100% NATURAL WHOLE GRAIN QUAKER QUALITY ROLLED OATS.

    Now the serving size is slightly smaller (40 grams for rolled oats vs 43 grams for the packet) and teh roalled oats gives you 150 calories, so as you can see, the calories are basically the same. Some people get freaked out because of sugar, but I just wanted to point out the difference is small.

    I don't even know what half of that stuff is, I think I will just stick with regular quaker oats and add my own protein and flavor.

    difference? processed. plus you get random ingredients. if you can buy bulk oats.. if you are short for time, pre-cook or soak the oats the night before..

    Any way to get the quaker oats to taste better? The consistency seems a lot thicker than the packages?

    peanut butter and oatmeal is good or oatmeal and chocolate protein powder. Also adding 1/2 a cup of blue berries to it is very good

    What about vanilla powder and peanut butter? I don't have any choco powder.
