i def think so. The feeling of a dull knife scraping your throat until you cant cant scream anymore, then being fully hyper conscious for the next 40 seconds as the executioner holds your head up to the crowd.

I would think something like slowly dying of radiation poisoning or some sort of prolonged disease would be worse.
Because any type of death where someone is actively trying to kill you, will mostly likely be short. even the trick with the rat and the heated glass bottle held to your face would be quicker.

That wouldnt be so bad, and with suffocation I heard your brain can actually achieve a high when you get oxygen deprived.

With beheading though you have a dull knife and you know its going to cut your head off

I remember reading that the egyptians used to cut a small hole into a persons stomach and put rats inside them, so the rats would basically eat them alive.

are you retired? your spinal cord would be cut off, you have no more blood supply to the head, how the f*** would you feel pain? beheading (with one quick swipe) is probably the best death you could ask for (obviously other than using drugs to make you sleep but that's not exactly something everyone offers).

No, it's a noblemans death (serious, commoners were hung).

Once the carotoid and/or jugular are severed your brain brain very quickly (few seconds) loses all its blood, and hence blood pressure, and you would fall unconcious (and die).

Hung, drawn and quatered would be far worse, the old English punishment for traitors, and from memory some of the Chinese execution methods were far worse than that (death by thousand cuts etc).

I think getting shoved into a wood chipper or rolled over slowly feet first from a steam roller would be worse than a guillotine...possibly would suck more than a botched beheading.

Oh here's a really nasty one. They would make a bunch of tiny cuts all over a person's body, then throw them in a canoe and float them out in the middle of a fetid pond. The guys wounds would get all infected and he would just steam out there, with all kinds of bugs/insects eating him alive and all his cuts turning gangrene. Gross.

There is a video (dont ask for link, idk) of a beheading of an American engineer by some Iraqis. It was by far the most devastating and gore thing I've ever seen.

Poor guy was being beheaded by some tiny knife. He was screaming his lungs out. I couldn't finish watching it.
