I've heard you should do at least 300 push ups a day. Is this true? And if so, it doesn't interefere with the rest period after a chest workout?

are you training for special operations?? lol
doing 300 pushups will work your chest out hard enough that you wont need to lift any weights after.
if you want endurance and strength, youre doing fine
if you want to look nice in front of judges n sh*t, lift weights and follow a bodybuilding plan
i do 150 pushups in 30 minutes every other day, and im still rising, im tryin to get to doing 400 pushhups in an hour.. im going into the military soon so i had to switch up my workouts... bCurrent IST:
1.5 mile - 10.16
Crunches - 136
Pull-ups - 14
Leaving for Bootcamp 02/14/11

if u trying to go for a different routine / exercise for chest day...
Do elevated push-ups (feet on hair ,desk ,etc) until failure.
Rest 1 min
Normal push-ups until failure
Rest 1 min
Elevated push-ups (hands on chair desk etc)
Ull b crying the next dayCarpe Diem !
Squat: 305
Deadlift: 355
Bench: 285
GOAL
Squat: 405
Deadlift: 495
Bench: 335
REPS

thats a good one
try this as well.
regular pushups to your max two times.
rest one minute
wide pushups to your max two times
rest one minute
triangle tricep pushups to your max two times
rest one minute
then do 100 situps, this will give you time to relax your arms/chest
then do as many regular pushups in 1 minute.Current IST:
1.5 mile - 10.16
Crunches - 136
Pull-ups - 14
Leaving for Bootcamp 02/14/11

lol, i kno it sounds pretty silly but i dont break it down to 5 pushups a minute.
im sure you can do it easily like that, but thats not how your supposed to work out
i been doing 5 supersets of
10 regular pushups
10 situps
10 wide pushups
10 situps
10 triangle tricep pushups
10 situps
you are not supposed to rest between pushups, situps, and supersets, and finish each superset in 2 minutes...
this program is suppsoed to be done in 10 minutes... but i jsut started this program, and i have to catch a breath after each set.. so it takes a lil longer than what im supposed to do.. ill cut my times down soon enough
