Yeah, but only for a reason. My parents were never abusive but my dad would slap me pretty damn hard if i fcuked around lol. I think it was for the best (serious) because i respect him. I remember one day i did something that warranted a slap, i got home all scared and shi.t. He sat me down and said

"Look son. I'm getting older and your growing up. I won't be here for you forever, you have to make your own decisions and the reason you choose to do some things, and not do others, shouldn't be because your scared of your dad. It should be because some things are right and some things are wrong. You have to learn that for yourself, i've tried guiding you and telling you what to do but now it's up to you."

Then he just hugged me and it felgoodmayne (no homo) I am sure a lot of the things i do are because of how my dad told me to behave when i was younger. If i see an old person with their shopping i automatically ask them if they want help etc. in before cool story bro

My dad probably spanked me/roughed me up twice, and I fear/respect him more than anyone in this world.

The reason I see my Dad in such high regard and respect/fear him more is because when he chastised me, I realize now it was for my own good. My mother did it because she felt I wronged her, and did it for her own consolation, not mine. I see her do this to my younger bro and sis too.

You can whip your kids, if absolutely necessary. Just make sure it's for them, and you never do it out of anger.

My dad NEVER had to hit me.....He was huge and he scared the SHYT out of me.

When i was younger i got beats a couple time a week. I was so naughty. My dad hardly hit me. My mum used to hit me with a wooden stick. My Gf also used to get beats. She told me when she was younger when her dad told here to come to him shew knew that she was getting beats. I think getting hit by parents is essential in disciplining children so they know the rights and wrongs.

Hell yeah I got hit as a kid. I'm asian too. I see too many asian parents (actually all parents) not doing **** when their kids get out of line. I don't know how many smacks to the face and arm my mom has given me when I was younger. I remember I really ****ed up and my mom gave me a punch to the chest, hard as fukk bro. I learned my lesson.

The only thing I don't like is when people hit their kids in public. These things should be done in private. Too many a time, I've seen fat black mothers at the supermarket take off their heels and whoop their kids asses with it. That's just plain ignorant man. But then again, I do live in Chicago. I've seen a black mother on the train tell her 3 year old she was ugly as fukk cuzz (srs).

"hit" is an understatement. I was beaten to pulp and scared to death of my dad.

He punched me once and my tooth cut his fist, so he decided to beat me harder because of it.

Another time he kicked me in the stomach, couldn't breath for a solid minute.

I worked up enough balls when I was 16 to hit back, never touched me again.

I hate what alcohol does to people.
