LOL yeah, slapped, hit with slippers and such. I usually deserved it, I was a pain in the ass as a kid. I do think hitting your child when they step over the line has a positive effect, as long as it's not over the top or done with malice.

My mom and dad hit me all the time when I talked back. One time my dad beat me with a snooker cue and broke my arm. After that they stopped hitting me as much.
