Seconded. They routinely eat protein in their diet. Pretty much whatever they can find around them which includes other chimps from neighboring territories. I hate the people that think chimps are cute and astonished when they attack and maul someone. You have more of a chance getting killed by a chimp than a gorilla. But not trying to hijack this thread.
Bananas all day, every day = stupid idea. But if people are dumb enough to follow these fad diets there are people willing to make them pay a **** ton of money to learn the "secrets" of the diet."For 14 weeks it's all about this contest. I used to eat 3+ a banana's a day and within 2-3 weeks i was suffering from legitimate potassium poisoning. Tell him to read up on the symptoms and to keep an open eye for them if he plans to do this.
From what I've read and been told by doctor's and other health enthusiasts is that the high level of potassium throws off your body's ability to absorb electrolytes.

See now, this is why I eat at least one chimp a week. Gets my fill of carbs right there...

I posted that site on here before for lulz. It's not a 7 day diet though, those people do it for life. I know a lot about the raw food world and respect some of them..but others are just ridiculous and extreme.
BRB. I have to post a pic of the ugly **** who made up the 30 bananas a day diet.1k.
I rape back faster if you paste a link in rape box.

OP update
So he never did go through with it...I quoted some of the responses on here and he just said I'm a dick. I also sent him some of the pics and gifs you guys posted and he got pretty upset. Anyway...he never did it and never talked about it again. He goes through these stupid things all the time. He went from vegetarian, to vegan, to raw food, etc, but he never actually sticks with it more than a week...lol. He also does this with working out. He falls for gimmicks like the ab lounge and it ends up never being used. He just bought an iron gym chinup bar which I gave him credit for as long as he uses it...he never did. I told him "dude, when you want to get serious and dedicated, let go of your pride and I'll come up with a solid nutritional plan and workout plan for you" But he just ignores me.
Currently 185 lbs 13% bf

That is approximately three times the recommended dosage of daily intake of potassium (4.7g daily), so I don't think there is too much "severe risk." The only life-threatening opportunity I can think of would be hyperkalemia (or potassium poisoning) which just seems highly unlikely.
So, I say let the ****er go head and do it. He is probably going to be starving all day regardless of the fact he is taking in around 3,000 Cals, he'll probably never want to eat a banana again after the week, and any attempt at muscle growth/preservation or fat loss will be chalked down as a massive failure.
Btw, let him know he is "nutritionally-retarded."
EDIT: The average banana has about 400mg of potassium, at 30 bananas a day that is roughly 12g per day. The recommended dietary intake is 4.7g of potassium per day, which is more than a third of what he'd be digesting. Maintaining this for a lengthy period of time may not be the best idea (for more reasons that just potassium), but I doubt his potassium intake will become an issue unless he has had kidney problems in the past.Last edited by anFranchise; 10-24-2010 at 01:22 PM.
