    Mass Building Help

    I am 17 years old. I am 6ft 150lb.

I have been attempting to mass build for the last few months with little results. I usually take jack3d before my workout and then have a Mass XXX shake after. For my workouts I do mostly free-weights. For each exercise I always go from 12 reps to 10,8,6. Should I be consistent with these reps or should I mix it up? I usually do one or two muscle groups a day. For example today I did shoulders and traps. Should I keep doing this? How many exercises should I do for each muscle group? (I usually for 4 or 5 with 3 to 4 sets each) I try to eat as much as I can during the day but I am just not gaining weight. I am going to be a senior next year and I want to put on some mass this summer. Is there anything I should change? Do you guys have any tips for me or supplements I should be taking?

Eating alot and properly is the key to building mass. Period. Anyone who says otherwise, has probly never built any mass. Changing your workout will be 5x less productive than changing your diet would be.

Too much emphasis on supps, bring it back to the fundamentals

First and foremost, your diet makes the biggest difference. Eating the proper foods is essential. I've heard anywhere from .8 grams of protein to 1.5g per lb of body weight. This is a guideline, it should be treated as the bare minimum. A day that yields 1.5g of protein per pound is not a success. Eat beyond what your body needs. Eat plenty of meat. Do not rely on protein shakes, they supplement your diet. Look up the word supplement.

Calories are important, your body needs calories in order to operate and recuperate. Eat more calories than you need, if you're looking fat, slow down.

" I try to eat as much as I can during the day"... No you don't. Literally, whatever quantity you're eating now, double it. You do not know what eating properly is, otherwise, you'd see results. MAKE yourself eat.

Slow down your reps, try 8 6 4.

I don't feel like explaining a workout routine, look it up. Don't be stupid.

I bulked from 170-195 in 8 months following these guidelines. My bench went up 70 pounds. They are "guidelines" because it is not an exact process, at least not at this level. Feel and understand your body's response to your diet and lifting.
