m a 17 year old boy (2 month to 18) who weighs 85 kg and are 188 cm tall. I began intermittent fasting about 2 month ago. Im not doing it very serious (like on holiday or at social gatherings im not focussing on it), but still do it every day of the week. I only eat between 12-20 (12-8). I downloaded a great app which tracks my daily intake of calories and other nutritions. I used a calculater to calculate what my daily intake should be and it is around 2700-2800 to maintain weight. I train 3-4 time per week and have been doing gymnastics pretty seriously before my fitness "career". Now to my problem. I can see that most days i only eat around 1500 including on training days. Im not hungry but i love to eat so it is no problem if i have to.
Is there a problem or is it unhealthy to eat so few calories?
ps. i have around one day in the week where i eat a pizza or something and drink
Hope you guys can help

It is unhealthy and will only hold you back in terms of growth and muscle development; it is far more optimal to eat 4 or so meals spaced out through the day for Muscle Protein Synthesis.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

At 85 kg, 188 cm tall you'd probably benefit from losing some weight. IF can help in that regard, if it makes you eat less calories.
Keep in mind though, if you only eat 1500 calories you won't gain any muscle.Recommended science based fitness & nutrition information:

17 year old on 1500 calories - bad decision. IF is another bad decision.
Just eat 3 square meals a day - eat to appetite - have mostly whole or minimally processed foods like meat, eggs, dairy, wholegrains, fruit and vegetables.Last edited by SuffolkPunch; 11-07-2017 at 11:57 PM.
