can antibiotics make you put on weight

can anyone tell me if antibiotics can make you put on weight?ive been on different ones for about 3 and half weeks and still working out but im putting on weight and cant think what else it can be,

yes done that ive been on 3 different ones , it doesnt mention it on their side effects but other web sites say yes as they destroy your good bacteria along with the bad and water retention and bloating can occur. one web site give it to pi bulls to put on weight!!

Weight gain isn't associated with most antibiotics. They are relatively mild drugs, although some of them can give your liver a good pounding.

It is possible that water retention is slowing your progress but it is most likely a peak that isn't associated with the drugs at all.

Hrmmm. Well, there you have it. That would freak me out a bit, but the pros are outweighing the cons, right? And at least it's water weight, it sounds like. I'd do more research and call your doctor about it. Sorry no help!
