Genetics can only do so much.
There weren't 40%BF morbidly obese fuckers being rolled around in their own personalized horse and buggy 120years ago, not unless you were a circus act. Those "rare" circus freaks are the people that sincerely have a problem with their weight.....but they were so unique that they were in the fucking circus as an anomaly, not 45% of a country with 350million citizens.

LOL at people saying the majority of obese people is caused by genes.
Genes can cause your body to be more willing to store energy as fat rather than utilize it. It can't make you become 40% bf.
Yes, thyroid conditions can attribute to SOME of the obesity problem. But probably 1-2% of it IF THAT.
The truth is, people love to point the finger. It's not THEIR fault they are fat, it's their genes, society, the food companies, etc. People need to shut up and quit pointing the finger.*Boston Misc Crew*

Im not reading through all this nonsense of people saying its genetics. Few Simple Facts, many years ago there werent as many fat people as there are now, one because people actually gave a **** and two because everything was natural not pumped with fake **** too make it taste good.
My 2nd opinion is this, its all bull**** none of its genetics, are you going to sit here and tell me that a person that eats like a body builder is going to get fat? Aka Egg whites in the morning, chicken breast with some vegetables for lunch and dinner maybe a couple protien shakes in between? Plus excercise....come on how come we arent fat? Its simple these fat people cry all while stuffing there face with horse **** food! Its just easier to cry I have a thyroid problem then it is to exercise and eat clean and healthy!
I went off on this fat POS lady that was at Ikea the other day. We all know Ikea is huge and when you get towards the bottom you get the check out line, well this stupid bitch gets down there, realizes she got the wrong piece, called a employee over which explained that in fact it was wrong and then asked him to go get it. He said he could not do it. So she causes a scene with a loud voice, "I HAVE TO WALK ALL THE WAY UP THERE" embarrassing the kid, all this taking place as I walk by. I raged instantly and said yes lady you have to go get it, its not his fault that you grabbed the wrong part nor that you are a complete lazy piece of ****. She was in shock and I just kept walking.About Tree Fifty

I don't agree. I was 35% bodyfat about 2-3 years ago. I ate pretty much the same as my brother (who's now 6'3 140lbs) but I was the fat one. I went for tests and doctors told me I have a slight thyroid problem and insulin resistance. Because of this I coasted and I just accepted who I was. Until one I had had enough. I was sick of friends getting girls while I was some beta *******, whipped on some sloot who wouldn't even touch me. So I did something, I worked my ass off, I was like 16 and didn't have access to a gym yet so I jumped rope. I jumped rope for 60-90 minutes every day. My joints hurted, sometimes I even threw up. But I did it, and after about 8 or so months I got down to around 12% bodyfat. Went for tests and most my health problems were gone. My point is, genetics plays a huge part of weight gain/muscle gain/weight loss, but if we were to just accept that our genetics is the be all and end all of bodybuilding, why do we even lift? It'll be harder for someone with health problems to lose weight, but they CAN. Maybe they won't be able to get to 10%, but being 20% beats 40%.

Also I truly truly hope redletter is a troll, if not I feel extremely sorry for your daughter for having such misguided parental figures. Seriously m8, you are f*cking your child up for life. How are you going to feel as she stays up crying on the nights of school dances because nobody asked her? How are you going to feel as she stays at home on friday nights eating ice cream to console her because she doesn't have any friends? That sh*ts on you, buddy. Man the f*ck up and help her, its not too late, its never too late

Guys if you've never been overweight it is nearly impossible to understand the struggle it creates.
I don't think most of it is genetic... I think most of it is parental.
Most people either are fat by the time they are adults or become fat from habits they learned as children and their bodies haven't quite caught up yet to what their eating habits truely are.
Think of people who appear in shape in high school then by the time that ten year reunion rolls around they've gained enormous amounts of weight.
Its always about habit, most habits are learned as children, children learn habits (one way or another) from their parents.
As a child my parents required me to eat everything on my plate, and they fried everything. This led me and my sister in very different directions. I listened and became a 304lb high school senior, my sister developed anorexia and was 95 pounds at her graduation. Both stemmed from the unhealthy lifestyle my parents presented as our option in our youth.
It is very hard to go against what you learned as a child. Possible, yes. Butstill difficult.THE AWARE

On another note: growing up as a fat kid in high school was ****ing hell so those clamoring for bullies... please go find yourself a tall window and take a lovely leap from it :-)
I still remember a time when I went to a school pep rally. Sitting in the bleachers behind me were a few of the popular girls. One of them decided to poke my fat and get as many people to laugh as she did so.
Its been like ten years since that day and I can still remember the mortification I experienced.
Every day was like mental warfare. I, luckily, developed a sense of humor to deflect the hatred. Now after I lost the weight and gained the muscle add that lovely sense of humor and awesome orating skills I became a confident and successful adult.
Not everyone is so lucky.THE AWARE

America has the largest % of obese people in the world. America is also the melting pot of all cultures and races. Why are we the "chosen" ones for the thyroid problem? I'm not saying Americans are the only ones with thyroids but I've been to my fair share of countries all over the world and I never seen as many obese people as I do in the states. All in all, eating healthy is expensive so we as Americans tend to "save" money buy eating garbage, which leads to obesity. But it can be prevented... which means people are lazy.

It always makes me laugh when skinny *******s think they are in better shape compared to obese people because they have much greater self control.
No, you are just phucking born with a lil bitch genetic that makes you feel full when you've consumed 1000 calories a day. Some people are just born with a big appetite that is hard to suppress and it takes much greater will power for them to control what they eat.
